Well, i can't blame the cop , if manager call the cops to evac those people, then cop will remove and its the law. Ask store manager why he call the cops. Don't blame police.

Exactly. It was a weird situation but still, the manager didn't handle it well. If he had a problem with them sitting there and not buying anything from the store (which is understandable and many places have that policy, they aren't public gathering areas,) he should've communicated better with the two guys and also the two guys should've told the manager that they were waiting for someone, I'm not sure if they said that to him/her. Even so, if they're waiting for someone, then should have the courtesy to buy a cup of mocha or something or told him they would order when their other party arrives.

The problem with many of these scenarios is some people will use these places of business as some meeting or gathering area and have no consideration for the business aspect of these retail stores. They aren't public places open to any activity except for people who are going to purchase their products. Amazing that some of these people don't understand that.

That's it, you gotta buy something in these types of stores. Places like those huge rest stops on the highways are probably ok to go in and just sit there without buying anything, but not a single store like Starbucks. It's not a mall lol.

That's what happened here. They could've just said "ok, we'll buy a coffee while we wait" and I bet the manager would've been fine with that, but they refused and that's what precipitated the situation.

In my student life , i worked in restaurant . I know how police works. In US police give full protection to business. Because they pay taxes and city pay its employees through these local businesses and police comes under mayor .

If you worked in a restaurant, then you know what it's like to deal with the public. A lot of people feel like they have some sense of entitlement for some strange reason, kinda like these two guys!

I agree. I do think it was daft of the manager. He had plenty of free tables. I wouldn't have approached them unless it was busy.

This reminds me of how back in the day (late 00's to early 10's) Starbucks was hip and trendy it was a common joke that this was a "white people" restaurant and that no black person would ever be seen there.

The manager called the police and reported a crime (trespassing) what do you want the Police to do, ignore the report and only select those who they think its worth it?

If your neighbour call the police on you on some make up charge and say you rob a store, would you think it was the police fault to arrest you? Or is it your neighbour faults?
