Let me point out the current situation. I would be fair in pointing out that India having probably the highest number of engineers, scientists, large economic resources and a big industrial base, should have had a Mars settlement at least ten years ago.

And allow me my favorite example. From my current field - computing. Every year India's large number of colleges ( small, big, the IITs and the IIITs ) produce 200,000+ computer engineer graduates, and this has been the situation for at least two decades. So the number of these engineers is about two million, give and take those who get absorbed in other roles. And these two million computer engineers, working in decades old IT companies, have not been able to design a single, local type of the two most fundamental elements in a classical computer - the operating system ( software ) and the microprocessor ( hardware ). Why ? Aren't these two million mediocre ?

What about during his study ? Or the interval between his birth and his study ? Will he be harassed or not ?

Show me one example where a Dalit doctor has been conferred with a Brahmin appellation.

We produce thousands of world class doctors too.

Without a Nobel in medicine yet.

But the US medical system runs on our shoulders.

Different priorities. Congruent for our time as a nation.

When we tackle our pressing needs, and free up the resources needed for basic research, you will see our mettle.

Right now we need doctors in villages. And don't have enough for our population in terms of doctors per 1000 Indians.

And we still die like flies to dysentery and tuberculosis and malaria and pneumonia each year.

Do you know Ramdev?? He is no brahmin and comes from backward caste but is call Yogrishi.
Brahmin dosent means holding a title. Brahmin is one who attains specific knowledge to its highest know form and further adds on to that knowledge through his experience. People here have a perception that a Brahmin is one who do puja path in temple.
