I am not sure if the name is a good choice because many Indians accuse Bin Qasim of slaughtering Hindus during the his invasion of Sind. Which is actually not accurate because there were Hindu tribes which had aligned themselves with Qasim against Raja Dahir. His invasion was anti Raja Dahir and not anti Hindu

Unfortunately history did not turn out the way you would have liked. Nothing to do with heroes, just the name. What if the Russian called their new abattoir Ivan the Terrible Slaughter house or even Stalin Slaughter House. But with Fauji's sponsoring the project, I can understand where its coming from.

I am not stupid and I know that but it is named after the first Arab/Muslim invader of India who is demonized by many. So if you name a slaughterhouse after a city named after an historical figure, it is the historical figure that matters rather than the place. Personally I don't have any issue if a slaughter house is named after Mohammed bin Qasim. Similar to our missiles when should name all our slaughter houses after muslim historical figures. How about Mahmud Ghaznavi Abattoir and Slaughter House or Ghuari Halal Meat Processing Plant or Babur Gaow Matta Slaughter House or Tipu Sultan White Meat Products

This is what the Corporate Page of Fauji Foundation says...

"The history of Fauji Foundation dates back to 1945, when a Post War Services Reconstruction Fund (PWSRF) was established for Indian War Veterans who served the British Crown during WW-II. At the time of partition (1947) when Pakistan came into being, the balance fund was transferred to Pakistan in the proportion of its post WW-II veterans. Till 1953, the fund remained in the custody of the civilian Government, when in 1954 it was transferred to the Army.

The Army instead of disbursing the balance fund of about Rs 18.2 millions (USD 0.2 million) among the beneficiaries, invested it in establishing a Textile Mill. Later from the income of the textile mill, it established first 50 bedded TB hospital at Rawalpindi."

This basically means that in Pakistan, the real Faujis (Army) have become Baniyas (Traders) :o::o:

I don't think anywhere in the world do we have any other case of Army running the Businesses as well as Country except for Pakistan!

Think some more. Amongst many countries in America the United States Army Corp of Engineers have 37,000 employees (mostly civilian) working in almost every facet of the economy. One example being electricty generation:-

Quote

"The Corps of Engineers was first authorized to build hydroelectric plants in the 1920s, and today operates 75 power plants, producing one fourth of the nation's hydro-electric power—or three percent of its total electric energy. This makes USACE the fifth largest electric supplier in the United States"
