MP me bina sattu ki banti hai . Eastern side(Baghelkhand, Bundelkhand Mahakaushal ) ,me Baati bolte hai jo baigan ya aalu ke bharte ke saath khate hai. aur Western (Malwa NImad bhopal)side Bafle which are actually steamed and fried in Ghee. jo Daal ke saath khate hai. Daal baafle and Bati bharta.

They are not exectly same dish. but same family.

Similar thing is Poha , and dahi chooda . made from same POha/chooda.

I had lots of bihari buddies in college. I tasted all those bihari food . They were good cooks.

Its awesome. I am not bihari but when I ate it, It was soo desi, and bliss to taste buds. Pakistan me dukaan khol le . Chal jaayegi.

Here in kannauj we call it " kachori" . . . like Aaloo ki kachori ( if potato stuffed). . .daal ki kachori ( if lentines as stuffing ) . . . and yes deep fried in either ghee or oil

Bhai Kachori is not made up of aata as far as I know. Baati is made from same aata with which we make roti. same is with litti. Litti n baati are roasted.

Kachori are actually very famous in MP as well. Actually Most of the MP people in northern and eastern parts are immigrants from UP. Natives of MP are tribals. My family came here 12 generations ago. They bought few villages with gold became landlords and settled here.

Bhai Kachori is not made up of aata as far as I know. Baati is made from same aata with which we make roti. same is with litti. Litti n baati are roasted.
