Bilateral Ties: China to help Pakistan with anti-terror efforts

ISLAMABAD:

In order to promote the strategic partnership between the neighbours, China offered special assistance to Pakistan with its counter-terrorism efforts.

While addressing the inauguration ceremony of ‘China Hall’, established at the newly-founded Strategic Studies Institute Islamabad (SSII), China’s ambassador to Pakistan, Liu Jian, said on Wednesday that his country’s commitment to the betterment of its neighbour remains steady.

China will seek solutions and policies based on national needs, he said.

Jian highlighted the repercussions of the war on terror, and said the growing cooperation in counter-terrorism initiatives was essential. “China will always stand by Pakistan,” he promised.

SSII Director-General Dr Shireen Mazari thanked the ambassador for his time, his gift of books and the conference system at the institute.

At the occasion, former foreign minister, Inamul Haque, also spoke on the expanding ties between the two countries.

May be, It's difficult for organized terrorists to live in China, so they escape and become Foreign-based, china should supply anti-terrorist to Pak, Afghanistan and other middle Asia countries，this did works

Good news. Pakistan seriously needs armed drones, heavy attack helicopters & Military equipments.

Its a classic case of holding a gun to your head and demanding ransom.

Everyone could have lived in peace if Pak had not provided sanctuary ( at least if they had control over their territory ) to these terrorist. Now its even eating away the pak establishment from Inside.

Maoist of India is vastly different, they are never strategic assests of India, Infact they are a head ache. Maoists are never used by India ( or given sanctuary ) to be used against another country. Hope you get the point.

Yes Pak is indeed suffering but its their own doing. They have kept these assests under tight leash, now look what happens when that leash is broken.

Terrorism is a major menace that both China and Pakistan are threatened by. Working together to combat it is the best solution to achieving peace in the region. The best thing about the China-Pakistan relationship is that there are no demands, no compulsions, especially compared to our relationship with the US.

This no compulsions help us become better partners in the fight against terrorism and our relationship is more balanced as each of us is on equal footing. Defeating terror is a good enough cause to unite against and China faces unrest in Xinjiang and Pakistan in the tribal areas. Both can work in unision to eliminate the threat of terrorism in not just Pakistan but the world.

America does though.

That relationship has too many demands. China and Pakistan should work on improving ties through the common fight against terrorism.
