mujib didnt get the mandate... the total percentage of voters was less than 40% ... around 37-8 %. almost the same percentage of as in Baluchistan... apart from him there were several bangalis who were pro Pakistan.. some who didnt care.. n some who were agitated by mujibs fiery speeches.. lying about fake accidents... for example.. in Dhaka he lied abt PA killing hundreds of bangalis in jessore... the truth? 2 bangalis were killed ... when the Brig commander of 2 East Pakistan Regiment (bangali regiment) was surrounded by thousands of bangalis lead by an awami league goon .. who incited ppl that west Pakistanis were comming to disarm 2EPR... instead the situation got out of control... the major of 2 EBR (bangali officer) tried to talk to the ppl... he talked for 45 minutes... meanwhile a vehicle of 2EBR was surrounded... 1 bangali soldier was killed... 5 kidnapped... the others thrashed n weapons snatched!! the bangali soldiers also went to Brig Arbab (the Brig Commander) ... he still didnt order any fire... but than the snatched weapons were used to fire on the army... nearly missing the brig himself!! in the cross fire 2 bangali agitators were killed n few soldiers injured.. the troops who returned fire were bangali themself... the same regiment.. tht later mutinied n killed west Pak officers,troops and even their families..



P.S:Yahya was trying to solve the tussle between bhutto n mujib.... even flew to dhaka to meet him... mujib was clearly a power greedy prick who got killed just after 4 years.... while bhutto hanged.

But I asked a guy from Bihar he Is a syed, he said that , normally Bdeshi shaiks are not the arabi shaiks, they are actually called so because of the businessmanship. This has nothing to do with with arabic lineage. More ove he said that, in Bdesh it will be tough to find any one of arabic linieage because only a few went there. Plus those who used to work for them, they were called as shaiks just to show respect.

and I think basically in saudi arab, people cannot put this sheikh as prefix, because it is not a name it is a title. Only those who are chosen, can be called as sheikhs.

Yes you are mostly correct, most of the Arabs that came to Bengal, came to sylhet.
Ie. shah jalal, shah farhan, shah kamal, shah siddiq and numerous other disciples (360 or so).

Pakistan supported both Masud and Hikmatyar at first, but after 92 the Tajiks and Pashtuns started killing each other. Pakistan just sided with the most "pro-Pakistan" side in the civil war.
