Big Three finally end. India lost both governance and revenue vote.

Again, those advertisers are paying for INTERNATIONAL competition - the value they perceive in pumping that money comes from the calculation that there will be high public interest in INTERNATIONAL competition involving India. If all they cared about was India, then the Ranji trophy and other domestic ODI competitions would be pulling in just as much revenue.

Like I said, the advertisers and television rights bidders might be predominantly from India, but they are pumping in that money because India is playing other countries. That revenue dries up for all parties (including India) if India pulls out or countries other than India pull out.

Board of Control for Cricket in India — the richest cricket board in the world — reported a whopping 928% jump in net profits to Rs,714.94 crore for the year ended March, 31, 2016, reports Devendra Pandey and Malyaban Ghosh in Mumbai. The surge in the bottom line can be attributed to an exceptional gain of Rs,603 crore realised by discontinuing the Champions League T20. While the board earned more from income from the grant of media rights and a surplus from the Indian Premier League, it lost out on revenues from the Champions League T20 rights.
Cash and bank balances with the governing body for cricket increased by 65.6% to Rs 3,576.17 crore. The size of the balance sheet expanded 44.28% at the end of March 2016, to Rs 7,847.07. The Indian Express and The Financial Express have reviewed a copy of the board’s accounts.

The whopping success of IPL has not only ensured that teams like Jaipur, Kolkata and Mohali are likely to break even in the first year itself, but also transformed the fortunes of its telecaster Sony Set Max, says a report prepared by the equity research division of Alchemy Shares and Stock Brokers. The biggest gainer, though, is arguably BCCI – which is projected to rake in a profit of Rs 350 crore from IPL in the first year itself. This would be more than BCCI’s profit of Rs 235 crore for all of 2007. In all, IPL will bring revenue of Rs 1,200 crore a year into cricket, more than double the government’s entire sports budget of Rs 490 crore.

Set Max, too, seems to have a winner on its hands. The channel’s revenue marketshare has risen from a pre-IPL level of 5.7% to 28.8%, says the report. Its share of prime time has gone up to 29%, higher than the cumulative marketshare of the top nine Hindi general entertainment channels. From next year, Sony is projected to gross about Rs 650 crore in advertising revenue for about 45 days of IPL, which would be 7% of the entire estimated TV ad revenue of around Rs 9,000 crore for the whole year.

India doesn't make money from CT17, ICC makes. As far as I know BCCI didn't agreed with the new revenue sharing agreement. So this is not the last word.

Australia and England want to save Cricket i guess.

And vice versa...

India is the golden goose of cricket. If ICC kills the goose, the cricket will die. If India doesn't play, ICC will see drastic reduction in revenue, meaning every country on ICC will see drastic reduction in revenue.

Pakistan has been proven right, we opposed this big 3 nonsense and rebelled to convince the world of the nature of India.

The entire cricketing world came to its senses to save cricket from India and its menace

A reduction in revenue is better then stand by and watch India destroy the game we love

Go play your IPL India

Do you thing $570 million that India is getting from ICC over 10 years matters to India? $570 million over 10 years in peanuts. BCCI revenue itself is $1.5 billion every year. However, we are asking our fair share from ICC as 80% of ICC revenue is generated from India. Without BCCI, ICC is dead.

We don't care about what India thinks it should receive, the cricketing world doesn't exist to shovel food down your greedy mouths

India has become a cancer in the world cricketing body and we need aggressive chemotherapy to get rid of India

I think the whole cricketing world will be happy if India went into isolation

Won't happen in a million year. ICC is only showing BCCI its limits, which means all the other board are showing BCCI its limits. And again vice Versa, BCCI is nothing without ICC, nothing.

It is you who need to wake up. Two way street BCCI too is nothing without ICC. BCCI itself doesn't produce the said revenue, the broadcasters, sponsors are the source of money.
For those who didn't know IPL generated revenue is for BCCI only. It would be great if members knew about facts.
