KARACHI: Supply vessels designed for exploration of oil and gas in deep-sea arrived at Karachi on Saturday.

“Supply ships transporting equipment to “Mother of All Rigs” docked 230 km off the Karachi coast for exploration of oil and gas arrived at KPT (Karachi Port Trust),” tweeted Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi.

“Best of luck to ExxonMobil and ENI when they start drilling. Let us all pray for a global discovery. From the looks of it, big news Inshallah.”

The oil and gas giant Exxon Mobil resumed operations in Pakistan in November this year after a hiatus of 27 years.

Exxon Mobil’s LNG Market Development Chairperson Emma Cochrane held a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan on November 28 over the project.
So u mean that more then qatar Reserves thing can be true?

This is laughable. A normal mid sized drilling rig, that too just 1 is described as the "mother of all rigs" is to drill . 98% of drilling results in no commercially viable oil discoveries and the numpties here are celebrating as if vast new oil fields have been discovered. In their eyes Pakistan already has become a new Iran or Kuwait, all to spite Indians who would not even bat a eyelid all this frenetic nonsensical chatter and noise.
Internationally there are many many off shore rigs drilling away, all looking for PROFITABLE discoveries of oil, many offshore of India, which more than likely will result in no COMMERCIALLY VIABLE amounts of oil being found.

They literally say this every year to the point where nobody believes this anymore.
The only good oil spots in the world are situated around Arabian gulf region, or near Venezuela.

No; but in a few a couple of months.

Agreed. But for a conventional pool you need enough shut-in data to estimate what the reserves are from a single well. The Indus delta is one of the most promising prospects. Will they hit a major pool?... I don't know. Going by recent exploration; nobody has hit the prolific pools like they did in the middle East. So your point is valid.

Too many false hopes but I wish them good luck.

They are doing a very smart thing this time. :what:

They will drill the hole deep enough and will open the Qatari wells from the other side. In this way they will drain the Qatari oil at this end :woot: :woot: :yahoo:

So what is the boundary for this wild cat then? Is it exclusively offsetting Karachi?

How can you define the boundaries if they haven't yet conducted a well test and collected enough transient and pseudo-steady state data yet? Can you explain that to me?
Once the cat is out of basket you will know everything, Investors and explorers are not fool to waste their time and money for nothing.

That doesn't answer my question. Can you please answer the specific question about no flow boundaries please?

Just speculation. No discovery yet .Caretaker govt minister Mr Abdullah Haroon talked about this firstly.
yes you are right but the contract was singed in shaid khakan abasi era thats why i used the word alleged ... hope for the best and hope this time we discover something
