how do you know he's not a convert? the marriage ceremony (nikah) was carried out by an imam which indicates that the groom was most probably a convert.

and yes, could very well be just one of those "dikhavay ka converts" just for the sake of nikah. if that is the case then she has to go in her own grave some day, both him and her will answer for their hypocrisy.
