Biden: "I stand squarely behind my decision" to pull US troops from Afghanistan

WATCH: Pentagon Press Sec.: U.S. will 'honor' its obligation to Afghans

.
the old pro Russian Kabul regime lasted over 5 years on its own , after the ussr withdrawal in defeat 1989

USA has been to generous with these afghans far to long. now going to be fly them out given expensive new lives in USA or Europe!

.
to say that we are bitterly divided over this issue, is an overstatement i think.
but our freedom of speech does allow for right-wingers and their partners in some media companies to print articles which show their concerns.
Nothing to do with freedom of speech but more like indirectly echo the sentiment of respective government thinking so as to mask their supportive of facist. :enjoy:

They fly them to Qatar only. I think they just let them rot in there. No intention to fly them to US or Europe.

it's the opposite they abandon Biden first, 300,000 ANA soldiers just vanished into thin air...
An Ashraf Ghani magic trick that surpasses the best of David Copperfield.

I support Biden's decision, he made the right decision, when it comes to Afghanistan there is no right decision anyway, but at least American soldiers are safe now and won't die for people who don't even fight for their own land.

yes we knew this ten years ago. But our politicians delayed the inevitable for their own political career. I don’t think Biden plans a second term in office and so he decided he’d do the right thing and bite the bullet.

True, this is exactly what @Hamartia Antidote said in another thread, Afghanistan was just wrong from very early stage of the war, best time to exit was after OBL raid... I think Biden took it for the team, what do you think?

.
Biden have a low iq. he made the troop of us and nato fled in the worst possible way he could have imagined. This would make many politicians start to doubt his intellegence. The world will realize that america is governed by a moron..
I dont agree. He was set up by Trump. It has more to do with their internal politics. Their inside fighting is the real issue. Joe only got blam of trump's doings. He tried to delay but agreement was already agreed before even Joe got into office. He tried to ran away from agreement but international forces did not make him run from agreement n reason why he is angry with IK. Man behind this historical event.

. . .
It was the Afghans themselves who wanted to stay, to see if there was a way for them to force the Taliban into negotiations. That didn't work, so we now have a hasty retreat. I'm not a fan of that, as i already stated in this thread.
You see, what I mean is that USA army should run faster before may, before taliban could catch up with them. US should not fled like this if Biden has an average IQ, this is shameful and will bring the image of a super power to a joke. This is even more shameful then saigon.

It is a true betrayal of those who have been very loyal to us and our
interests
the thing is: nobody likes traitors, not even those who use them. where is the guarantee that they will not turn against you if someone stronger than you comes around?

Do you support US invasion also...they didn't Invite US on there land...killing hundred of innocent civilians and when they don't want to fight more to avoid blood ..blame on them again...why do they fight and killed there own for US a blood thirsty nation having blood of muslims in it's hand ...be it Biden or trump ..i wish someone liberate US like this also...or may have to face same situation and destruction spreading across muslim nations

That is exactly what the right wingers will do. Exploit freedom of speech to enforce their will.

I've been watching CNN-US all day today over the internet, and as a
North-Western European, i have only the following comment to add to
CNN's and Biden's argumentation about the (future) situation in
Afghanistan :

The American and European governments and bureaucracies have been very
slow to grant Special Immigration Visas for the thousands of Afghans
who assisted our troops in our anti-terrorism efforts in Afghanistan.

This has now led to a very chaotic and scary situation there, where
these people are even clinging to western evacuation airplanes as they
taxi over the runway.

It is a true betrayal of those who have been very loyal to us and our
interests (which they share), and for our next military interventions
against terrorists, we should plan better, and pre-qualify our local
allies for immigration once a country or region like Afghanistan is
handed back over to groups like the Taliban.
We should also make the troops, support staff, and airplanes or boats
available to effect an orderly retreat, not a hasty retreat as we saw
happen in Afghanistan.

And finally, we should prepare our domestic economies to harbor these
local allies from conflict zones, offering them free language and
culture courses for instance, along with housing and job-interview
assistance and even anti-PTSD assistance.

We can handle 200-thousand new immigrants spread out over all of
Europe and the USA and Canada. With ease.

All we need to do is properly prepare for such events.
It is our moral obligation to do so, and it is strongly in our
interests of showing the world through our actions, that our morality
is slightly more advanced and modern and kind than the morality of
groups like the Taliban.

And i have the following short-term advice for the Afghan locals who supported our troops :

Play along with the Taliban until you can move to the west.
Do not challenge their authority or their laws in any way.

Lie when you have to about having supported western troops. Have your friends and family echo those lies.
Atleast you right here that US have obligation to take all those intended for asylum ...instead of leaving them behind ..it should accept responsibility..

.

Nope, I don't support US invasion policies.
