Border Guard Bangladesh’s (BGB’s) first batch of female recruits was assigned to active duty at Benapole check post on Monday morning.

Newly appointed female BGB member Nargis Khatun said that she joined Benapole border for performing her duty and she is enjoying her job.

Lt Col Jahangir Alam, commanding officer of Jessore BGB battalion-26, said women smugglers are very active along Benapole border and it will be easier for female BGB members to check the women suspects.

Put of 100 female recruits, 97 completed the training successfully. They joined the force formally following the march-past held at BGB Training Centre and School of Baitul Izzat, Satkania in Chittagong on June 5.

97 female recruits formally joined the paramilitary force through a march-past on June 5.

Among them, 15 members have been appointed to the Integrated Check Post (ICP) in Benapole of Jessore BGB battalion-26.

@ What a funny idea ? I hope you have not seen the performance of lady soldiers in handling the small arms ? Just after few weeks of training they are normal. Their hands are not like you are dreaming ?

I doubt It because even in army the training for women is relaxed. While other countries still keep their standards for women equal to men. Though few graduates the ones who do are as good if not better than men.

Unnecessary decision by govt. just to score goal. we have enough MAN to do the work a job is more important for man then woman .

I hope they can handle the recoil of their rifle.

Our woman this days not anymore ''obola nari'' , so worry they can handle the woman .

female combat pilot in Bangladesh? No there is military helicopter pilot but not fighter pilot. Only Pakistani women in subcontinent have become fighter pilot with India starting a program too as I heard. Bangladeshi women haven't been fighter pilot yet.
