If BD army can turn into guerella army they they can give headache to Indian army. They wont want to have straight battle, as it will not help them.
Any Indian assault into bangladesh will turn it into a iraq war.
I don't need to talk about a bangladesh assault on India.
Peacekeeping missions and CI( counter terrorism) operations are different from war.

Yes, they still are a major problem but you do realize that they are doing this on India's soil, thus preventing IAF from to carpet bomb the entire area. You cannot shoot Jaguars and Mig 27s with assault rifles, now can you.

FML this thread was meant to be about BSF-BDR celebrating Holi together. Why on earth would India attack Bangladesh? What would India achieve by doing that? If India has to coerce Bangladesh for anything there are many other ways of doing that, war is certainly not one of them.

Yeah , exactly. A war against any country is of disadvantage to us. We can easily use diplomacy to attain our objective without firing a single shot. In case of bd, their govt is willing.

Actually the PRC issue was nullified by going into the 20 years treaty with Soviet, I just wish his father was as smart as Indira was!

So, China sent a message to the USA asking to intervene in BD, and promised that it would send a million troops to Soviet border to counter a move. But, fearing a nuclear exchange or a 3rd WW, and considering US citizens' opinions regarding our freedom fighting the USA did not agree to the Chinese proposal. Instead, it only gave Pakistan a lip service. This is what a few recently released classified documents of those days say.

Bangladesh-India war will never be accepted in my state, it would mean more refugees and already stagnated economy getting more and more crippled. Why would we want another Afghanistan at our doorstep? :/

I go by written historical account, it'd be no problem for me to override my existing knowledge provided valid sources.

Actually sir, there is nothing contradictory in what he said. While you mentioned what China WANTED to do, as per it's diplomatic communications, my friend here just mentioned what China actually ended up doing. He also mentioned WHY china wasn't able to execute it's plans.
