LMAO true. Does their 'soft stereotyping' add up? Does 'Borat', a movie about a clumsy Kazakh anti-semitic man who can't tell his foot from his face , made in some village in Romania, show reality of life in Kazakhstan? But you see, it did its damage. You won't know it right away but things like this work wonders. Some people like shrugging them off by saying, 'hey, it's comedy' but this is propaganda of the highest form.

As for your second question, these are rumors. 1)It is factually incorrect. The Chinese have clarified that there is no such ban on fasting and that they respect the freedom of religion.2) They have clarified that they have guidelines in their system under which religious activities should not interfere with state functions.

The problem of course is that these terrorists attacking China have training camps in the Af-Pak border region.

Whereas there are no TTP training camps in China.

So if you guys feel really bad about it, send a message to your local US congressman, and ask them to pressure the Pakistani government to take out these camps.

We will never be able to win against the West propaganda machine due to the inherent weakness in our ideological and political system. That is something we understand and accept. What we can do is however urge other friends to contact us directly if they need clarity on any issue.

The Chinese don't accept defeat. China can never be a true power unless it can match the propaganda war.

Power is not just about guns and checkbooks. It is also about reaching the hearts and minds of people around the world.

Well then they are winning the media war, and considering the enormous ethnic and religious fault lines in Asia, they can look forward to a WW3-like situation if they keep pushing it. Arguably it's already happening in the Middle East.

China can afford to ignore the propaganda being waged against Muslims, but there is plenty of propaganda against China also.

Just look at how 'Borat' single-handedly created a new cultural meme about some Eastern countries.

That actor, Sacha Baron Cohen, is a rabidly racist Jew who has been making viciously negative stereotype about Iranians and Arabs for decades before he mocked Kazakhstan. He is Jewish, so he can get away with being racist.

Can you imagine if an Iranian, an Arab or a Kazakh made a movie stereotyping Jews? Would the global media promote it as "humor" or would they throw tantrums about anti-Semitism and "hate speech" from Middle Eastern people?

Like all good propaganda there is always a kernel of truth in what they say. But like with everything else they report on China it has been twisted and exaggerated by the BBC and other Western media a like.
