I have used almost all listed as well as unlisted antivirus programs and I can assure you that most antiviruses listed are not worth to be even in top 10 list.... By the way here are my top 5 list with reasons...
5. AVG (includes free verson)
4. Quick Heal
3. Bitdefender
2. Kaspersky
1. Avast (Includes Avast free version) - Apart from common features, it includes boot time scan, sand box to run any malicious program in controlled environment, power to recover any false positive file from quarantined list, etc, etc...

Use Avast Antivirus, their free version is even better than most other anti virus programs. If you are protected with Avast you can roam internet freely by clicking on any link you wish...nothing has bypassed Avast on my PC in last three years.

use adguard which prevents virus from downloading itself so no need to use antiviral.

Not always, you will still need a complete security solution to protect yourself.

Or you can Just use Mac or Linux and get rid of Virus altogether. Seems like a easy option.

Wrong, Mac are not as secure as previously, you can blame the increase in usage of Mac. This believe Apple OS's are inherently safe guarded against viruses will only land you in trouble some day.

I got avast internet security . Is it any good?

No, its not very good, the scan engine could be resource intensive.

I am using Microsoft security essential for last 4 yes and no virus in my system. And top of that it is free.

It is a good solution, but not complete protection.

Better go for Kaspersky, there are several options available and the prices are not that bad as well.

Custom modded Mozilla builds are all there. I just fine tune this and that ... just to play around. I hardly change the user agent even. Call me lazy.
