Balochistan is not DISPUTED TERRITORY by any means, World accept it as part of Pakistan, WE DONT EVEN GIVE A DAMN TO WHAT INDIANS THINK, BALOCHISTAN = KHALISTAN not even NE ASSAM STATES. Whereas KASHMIR IS DISPUTED TERRITORY & EACH & EVERY COUNTRY ACCEPT IT AS DISPUTED TERRITORY, WE DONT CARE WHAT INDIANS THINK. GOT IT?:coffee:

Hope Mods are watching this thread & will delete off topic.

If we are talking about aspiration of people then how does legal status of territory matter..even people of sovereign territory can have aspirations to form a separate country as East Pakistanis did.

However if we wan't talk about legal status of the land and not aspiration of the people then how does question of plebiscite come into picture?

The Prince/Ruler of Balochistan joined Pakistan & the people of Balochistan fully support that idea, you can see Balochs are in every field of Pakistan.

There are matters of country background, problem intensity, strong logic, severity of people's discontent and aspiration.

Everyone knows that Mr.Jinnah sent Army into Kalat in April 1948 and forcefully annexed Balochistan against the wishes of the ruler Mir Ahmad Khan.

The first Balochi uprising immediately happened and even today many Balochis are fighting for their 'Right to self determination'.

It is not the artificial rubber stamp of the UN that matters -- its the aspirations of the people and everyone knows significant portion of Balochis desire independence.

NO MORE OFFTOPICS, I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE BRING EAST PAKISTAN & BALOCHISTAN WHEN IT IS THREAD ABOUT KASHMIR.

Well if all the people Balochistan did fully support the idea..then there would not be a freedom struggle going on there..Besides Maharaja of J&K also decided to join India and people from J&K are found in every field in India.

NO MORE OFFTOPICS, I DON'T KNOW WHY PEOPLE BRING EAST PAKISTAN & BALOCHISTAN WHEN IT IS THREAD ABOUT KASHMIR.

Because a lot people here like to talk about people's aspirations because it suits them..we are just using their own yardstick to measure them.

Even East Pakistan wasn't a disputed territory either...but is now a different country...so if the real issue here is the aspiration of the people then it does not matter if it is Kashmir or Baluchistan or East Pakistan..the land's legal status does not matter.

Now the comparison went to East Pakistan. East Pakistan scenario is quite different from Baluchistan. If a big majority of people in Baluchistan aspire to get freedom form Pakistan then surely there will be a mass scale revolt like it happened in case of East Pakistan. That's not the case. Baluchistan is 50% Baluch and the remaining 50% is made up of Pashtuns, Brahwis, Sindhis & some Punjabis. So simply no comparison to East Pakistan whose significant portion was of Bengali population. Also keep that in mind. What we see in Baluchistan are many militant groups, each with their different agendas. They are much more interested in blowing up gas pipelines than to think for the welfare of people.

Will you give freedom to your insurgency hit areas as they are also aspiring for freedom? Lets say will you free Assam, Nagaland etc?
Surely not because they are integral part of India. As for Kashmir, it is a disputed territory according to UN.
Lets stick to the topic.

You can not depict an Ant issue as an Elephant issue, an integrated common aspiration with some discrete people with different aspirations. How many people were died for each issue? And how many countries and people see each issue equally. And how many troops are deployed in Balochistan and Kashmir. Does the same percentage of people react against their respective issues. Anyway, any logic will not work but the might/action. Over.

How do measure this scale of people's discontent..other than by having a referendum and asking people what they want ?

Are terrorist activities like bomb blast, kidnapings etc are a measure of people's discontent?

No off-course not because we do not believe in this "people's aspirations" theory.

We believe people have the right to choose their governments but not their country.
My question is only to those who want forward this people's aspiration theory.

People aspiration theory i think came from here

India accepted the accession, regarding it provisional until such time as the will of the people could be ascertained by a plebiscite, since Kashmir was recognized as a disputed territory. India applied to the United Nations for a resolution of the issue and a temporary line of control was created. The plebiscite recommended by the UN and promised by India in the Indian White Paper on Kashmir was never conducted due to intransigence on the part of both Indian and Pakistani governments.

As the plebiscite requirements were never met by both Govts, this issue remains unresolved.
