Two emirates - you forgot the Islamic emirate of Afghanistan. Mullah Omar is the emir.

There are a few more to follow - AQIM, Boko, Al Shabaab are to form their emirates too.
3 emirates, you missed one:

Nusra front declared an emirate in Syria nearly 2 weeks ago.

It's becoming a game of Caliphates vs Emirates.

.
more Caliphates means more dangers to Emirates and kingdom's :coffee:

destruction is a business and it's booming, but where the real money is at is rebuilding, and guess what you can always destroy it again.

Yes. Abu Mohammad Golani the leader of Al-Nusra. They have declared an emirate in Sham or Syria. He felt he is not catching up with al Baghdadi.

It's not like Libya was doing great under the dictator and madman Gaddafi was it?

Why is it that many Muslims have a tendency to blame everything on either the West or non-Muslims? Why are people commenting on something that they have no clue about? Do people know about Libyan history, the Libyan civil war and post-Gaddafi Libya?

Not many that have commented in this thread.

The point is that the vast majority of Libyans wanted Gaddafi gone (to put it mildly) and since they were unable to do so fully they asked for outside help. Nothing wrong with this.

Only UAE and Qatar took part in that successful military operation from the region.

Now Libya is in turmoil BECAUSE of 40 years of failed rule by Gaddafi who only kept the country SOMEWHAT intact with fierce rule. A bit like Saddam in Iraq. Yet we know that this could not go on forever.

Libya is going through something that all states went through when they shifted from dictatorship to a more active participation by the people.

Yet there are and have been FOR A VERY LONG TIME regional differences in Libya between the West, South and East. Aside from tribalism which is quite possible the biggest in the Arab world. Now when there is a power vacuum and an ongoing process like we see today there will be a lot of such problems.

Yet on the long run Libya or it's successor states will be better off Gaddafi then with him.

Libya needs at least a few years to become stabilized. When such changes happen this can be the end result.

Benghazi is not under full control of that group either. They only control certain neighborhoods.

I have no doubt that Libya will see better days and ultimately will stabilize. It's already stable in large parts of the country. It's mostly Benghazi and parts of Tripoli that are a problem as of now.

A lot of problems were created by Gaddafi as he used to bribe many tribes that now do not enjoy that economic support and want him back by force. He was constantly playing out the tribes against each other so they would not go after him. Before Gaddafi started doing that there were no major problems in Libya.

Now there is a bunch of armed gangs that were rivals under Gaddafi who are fighting for control and meanwhile the authorities do not have the sufficient experience, power etc. to stamp down on it but they should get that not long from now on.

Anyway if it was not for the Muslim world being on fire currently there would be more focus on Libya and the problems would probably have been solved (at least some) by now. It's been forgotten due to this reason.

Anyway Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria are working together to calm down the situation which is needed.

Boko haram is on it's way to make it's own emirate too.

That's a good perspective - rather than blaming it on the west for all ills. It's not as if these brutal dictators were being fair. They used extreme force to purge any and every uprising or call for equality in their domain.

For AQIM , you can put a check mark on her. They will evaporate with Bouteflika last trip to his resting kingdom...When papa leaves, concubine's childrens go too.
