Well, a lot of a Bangladeshis and West Bengalis do overlap but I also think there are some Bangladeshis that won't fit very well in WB, and vice versa. Whether you like it or not, the Muslim settlers in the Subcontinent would have had to marry local women and thereby injecting some West Asian admixture into the Muslim gene pool. But like I say, it's often heavily diluted.

Bangladeshi Buddhists are a distinct ethnic group that aren't related to Bengali Muslims. They are more related to Burmese then Bangladeshis.

If you are talking about the CTG hill tract people then of course... There are ethnic Bengali Buddhists, lots of them.
