KARACHI, Nov 11 (APP): The inaugural ceremony of the establishment of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto chair at the University of Karachi (KU) will be held on November 12. Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism, Ms Sassui Palijo, will also be present on the occasion. The Chair has been sponsored by the Sindh Department of Culture.

A statement of the Culture Department here on Tuesday said this is first time ever in the history of two main Universities of Sindh including University of Sindh and University of Karachi that any Department is sponsoring such activity.

It said that an annual grant will be announced by Sindh Government. Ms Sassui Palijo has said that the aim of establishing such a chair is to hold Ph.D. level research on political struggle, sacrifices and vision of Mohtarma Benazir for the nation and publishing of books is also included.

She said with the help of foreign universities we are trying to expand her message worldwide. The Provincial Minister further said Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was not only an international leader but she was also a good writer who wrote many books and delivered many lectures in foreign universities.
