Islam calls for equality and respect for everyone and no compulsion in religion ... Any Hadith that is interpreted in a manner that does not align with that concept should be discarded, plain and simple.

Unfortunately, we don't study it on our own and completely rely on scholars. We need to study and understand it before buying it from them and start criticizing or appreciating.

There is not a single example in history of a matriarchal society creating an urban civilization.

The use of the term 'patriarchal' was not meant to suggest that the alternate was scholars from 'matriarchal societies', but to point out the fact that these 'Mullahs/Scholars' came from a cultural background that called for 'supremacy of men over women' - in essence these people were/are incapable of viewing women as equals, and their interpretations of Islam continue to espouse values prejudicial to women and those whose faith does not completely align with their views.

Yes, and the moment you question a prevalent interpretation promoted by a majority of 'scholars', you'll be accused of Blasphemy - case in point being Salman Taseer.

We people love to put blame of everything on others. Isn't it our fault that we don't study and search? Shouldn't we go to scholars with valid points and questions to understand it better?
Also, we should go to some humble and great scholar to seek knowledge. Another thing today we are too scared to talk about Islam, which gets on my nerves. You can't find the solution to any problem with not talking about it. You know.

The best is Sahih Bukhari I think for Hadith.

The first source of knowledge for every muslim is Quran . Then comes the hadiths. There are 6 authentic books of hadiths,not only sahi bukhari. you can not just take out a single verse of Quran or single hadith in isolation for guidance. One has to study all the verses of Quran and all the hadiths for guidance in a particular matter.

Well ! Let me clear the facts .

Humans Societies in beginning were matrilineal in nature .
Mother Goddess and related Figurines were most worshiped things .

Around 5000 years ago things changed with coming of Male dominated societies .
And this phenomena is still in existence .

In future , I am expecting equality between Males and Females , Rather than one oppressing the other .

Here are many great and very down to earth scholars. They explain you well, they force you to ask questions and any doubt you're still having. True that with the last part. Honestly speaking I don't really like him.
Don't miss to listen Mufti Ismael Menk, (mufti) Yasir Gadhi (Hadiths expertise), Shaykh/sheikh Hamza Yusuf. And my most favorite who I can listen all day long, brother Nouman Ali Khan ( great Quran teacher).
Well it's just a stigma that we don't have good scholars or mullahs, masjid near me have very credible teachers and mufti(s). Best thing is, very down to earth and encourage you to ask any question.

I think I should write one about responsibilities we people have regarding to understand this. The day we will rely less on our mullahs and start looking up the knowledge on our own, things will change on very high level.

Well in Islam male and female both are given some rights with some duties and oppression in any case is prohibited. Man to man, man to woman, woman to man, woman to woman, oppression towards kids, and even cruel behavior towards animals is strictly prohibited in Islam.
