Seeking to downplay the controversy over beef masala packets sent as relief to quake hit Nepal, Pakistan on Wednesday accused the Indian media of trying to inject unnecessary controversy into the issue.

“Yesterday, we were asked by the Indian media regarding the inclusion of beef in the food packets that have been sent. It is unfortunate that Indian media has not even spared a humanitarian mission and has, unnecessarily, tried to inject controversy into it,” said Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson, Tasnim Aslam.

“The Meal Ready to Eat (MRE) is a pre-packed kit of 20 items for a full day’s meals. On each and every packet inside the kit the name of the dish is clearly written in English and Urdu so that people may choose whatever they like to eat or discard. Both the languages are understood in Nepal,” she added.

Aslam further said that the Nepalese authorities found the MREs so effective that they specially requested for a full plane load of MREs on priority.

I don't see the big deal. was it intentional? I doubt it. you don't eat beef don't eat it.

During grave situations people wont look for integridents in the food.
They will only look for a food.
And unlike advanced society ,South Asians have a lots of importance to their beliefs and tradition.

Pak authorities can understand the issue .What would be their citizens response if US or UK sends some pork MSE to Pakistan during 2005 quakes?

On topic :Indian media at its usual jingoism

let's say a Hindu accidentally eats beef and finds out later. what happens next?

.
As usual blaming India for their own screwups.

let's say a Hindu accidentally eats beef and finds out later. what happens next?
Nothing. Many already do.We are real peaceful people.

.
You cannot expect mango's from a greenland relief aid.
Pakistan provided what it had available at the need of emergency.

Relief is not religion specific.
A more precautionary approach could have been taken to avoid hitting sentiments and religious beliefs. But for sure it was not intentional. And any media which sees a conspiracy story itself shows how low level they are.

nothing. its more of an cultural thing than religious. many Hindus do eat beef, from north east india region and some in south india too..but for large portion of india, beef is as much as a taboo as dog meat is to westerners.

Hopefully Pakistan learns to let the people die next time is that what you want. Everyone knows Pakistan isn't the sort of country to do this. The current leadership isn't even that religious, it's more symbol in this government so I highly doubt they were thinking that. Most of the planning for this type of stuff when it's done so fast is not done in person so they probably just counted bags of food rather than the ingredients.

Also meat is very expensive which means Pakistan tried to give quality food. But when it thought about quality maybe some details were overlooked

ahh nothing will happen :D
I am a Hindu and I know for a fact that there is nothing wrong, its just meat.
But then, I won't just because I believe and have faith in my way of life. It's better if we try not to analyze everything from scientific point of view.,
