‘Beef masala’ row: Pak says Indian media trying to inject ‘unnecessary controversy’

Pork is totally forbidden in Pakistan, can the same be said for the Beef in Nepal.
Apparently there are riots in Nepal by the survivors for the lack of relief....when your life is at stake all theses religious issues go out of the window.
It's pathetic how some bankrupt minds are trying to score points rather than addressing the disaster at hand.

Anyone killing a cow in Nepal is punishable by death.

I am not saying Pakistan did it intentionally, but should have taken care of religious sentiments before sending as important as food.

Bhartiies can shove their controversy where sun don't shine. Send them more if they want more and we can afford.

That is half the story... read the full story

So, youu wudn't have made a mess if pork meat was sent to you as relief?

As i said Bhartiies can shove their controversies where sun don't shine.

It is not about controversies, but religious sentiments. As an Indian, I don't care much about religion, but as a Pakistani and a Muslim you should have better understanding about religious sentiments.

You people know to protest if France bans halal, but see nothing wrong is feeding beef to Nepalis

It was an honest mistake, where food was sent on an emergency basis, and this fact was embarrassingly overlooked.
But come on, stop making such a big fuss about it, don't want it? Don't eat it, better yet, send it back, we've got many mouths to feed.

Also, your media has been by far the most pathetic party in all this drama, as usual, gutter journalism.

Anyone fanning this $hit sounds like an Islamist mota taza mullah f@rting about pork.

It is time for all of us to grow up for Gad's sakes.

Well the Indian idiots are never shy of showing their true colours.
And i bet it's also saffron where Sun don't shine.

It seems somebody rear open for wind flowing is also jammed.Otherwise they cant imagine things and colours like this.

Indian media trying to exploit and stir up Nepali sentiment during a natural disaster. Maybe good for scoring political points but will do nothing to help people of Nepal.

Seeking to downplay the controversy over beef masala packets sent as relief to quake hit Nepal, Pakistan on Wednesday accused the Indian media of trying to inject unnecessary controversy into the issue.

“Yesterday, we were asked by the Indian media regarding the inclusion of beef in the food packets that have been sent. It is unfortunate that Indian media has not even spared a humanitarian mission and has, unnecessarily, tried to inject controversy into it,” said Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson, Tasnim Aslam.

“The Meal Ready to Eat (MRE) is a pre-packed kit of 20 items for a full day’s meals. On each and every packet inside the kit the name of the dish is clearly written in English and Urdu so that people may choose whatever they like to eat or discard. Both the languages are understood in Nepal,” she added.

Aslam further said that the Nepalese authorities found the MREs so effective that they specially requested for a full plane load of MREs on priority.

Let me explain things a bit:

These relief packs are pre-made and packed in the disaster relief kits by the disaster relief fund and stored before hand to be used immediately in any disaster situation, as would common sense dictate. When the quake hit Nepal the Pakistani disaster relief authorities shipped the complete kits (which include much more that just the beef masala packets) immediately to Nepal.

These weren't ordered or included in the kits after the quake, nor could they have been taken out of all the disaster kits owing to the immediacy of the situation. These kits were made and stored for use in Pakistan which we sent to our Nepali friends in their time of need.

Disaster hit Pakistanis faced something a bit similar after the 05-06 quake when clothes included in the relief kits sent by some friendly countries were absolutely useless in the harsh cold climate of northern Pakistan.

Yet if it did hurt the Nepali sentiment then we would offer our apology for overlooking the matter and convey that it was a mistake born only out of concerns of immediate relief for our Nepali friends.

Anyone killing a cow in Nepal is punishable by death.

I am not saying Pakistan did it intentionally, but should have taken care of religious sentiments before sending as important as food.

Sup with this?

Honest question.

I'm sure there would have been idiots who would have tried to make some noise but personally no, I wouldn't have. I would have simply asked the respective countries to kindly send something else instead of pork next time.

BTW, if in true need, such as a natural disaster, Muslims are allowed to eat anything that will help them survive, including pork.
