Ilaichi + Saunf makes chai heavenly. Problem is, it gives too much Garmaish for a guy like me who drinks 1 and half dozen cups a day especially in hot weather in Karachi. But, if you are into 2-3 cups a day, then simply go for Doodh pati with ilaichi+saunf. Delicious.
Never tried in saunf, will check someday as saunf is very healthy spice. I dont know abt garmaish factor. To be honest iwill tell u what ido. Firstly my intake is not even remotely closer to urs. I dont take beyond 2-3 cups a day. I used to drink dhoodh patti a lot some years back but have been off it for quite long as idont crave it anymore. One reason thay i avoid taking in too much tea is because tea and coffee and soft drinks contain caffeine which if taken in huge quantities will cause more urination and that impacts kidneys functioning, so i try to stay on safer side. These drinks are basically bladder irritants so for kidneys sake ican sacrifice many tea cravings in a day.

Cardamom is something which makes a tea taste as a luxury. A luxury should not be consumed everyday and most importantly several times a day. So i never take cardamom tea more than once a day. Secondly, i dont go drinking ilaichi chai for more than three-four consecutive days ,because if idrink it several times a day and continue drinking for three-four days continuously then the tea starts to lose that luxury factor in it and u get tried of taste. So i take it once in a while

If you haven't tried Pu'er Cha then you are missing out. Word of warning though! these could get little expensive depending on the age and origin of the tea.
