Right now I live in Bangalore but my parents live in Dehradun.

Lot of places to visit in Uttarakhand Haridwar, Rishikesh, Char Dham, Nainital Mussurie

I had passed through Dehradun on the way to Masuri. Very beautiful area. Guru Dronacharya used to give training to Pandavas in this area.

Roorkee and our ancestors from Punjab/Haryana region decision to move here as land was farmable after British Gang Nahar project.

My late maternal Grandfather graduated from erstwhile Thompson College of Engineering Roorkee. I too had a chance to visit the institute back in 1999 for a paper presentation.
Lovely place Roorkee, some great food too

It is a result of three big things-

1. University of Roorkee and Thomason College of Civil Engineering (Now IIT Roorkee)
   
2. Army Headquarter
3. Gang Nahar Irrigation (River Ganga)

I am attached to the city as i was born there. My father was there due to Army cantt and from my mother side Gang nahar project which made her ancestor to move to this area for farming.

That just 200 years of history i will not go further than that and the creation of Jaat Samaj nearby Muzaffarnagar and Merrut area.
