Secondly, I personally don't understand the premise of the whole "I am unbeatable" and "beat me" .... the underlying assumption is that.... your the best at your craft ..and that you are "unbeatable"

You my friend, are quite literally doing the same ... I said in my first post that domestic violence is an issue ... I didn't say anything hurtful or insulting to the victims or minimized the situations they faced ... What I did say was ... the ad is sexist because it portrays women as the ONLY victims when that is not the case (hence it pretends that men don't have to face such issues ... an outright fabrication of facts )

Now you say "In Pakistan it's a very gender specific issue" ... I don't know of a single research paper (I have seen a case study or two) that looks in to domestic violence from a male perspective in Pakistan or even if such statistics are available and I'm actually a researcher and yes I've tried looking as well.

Most of the credible research is done in the West usually by the Brits and Americans ... and their research says that men are victims too ... Remember when the IK divorce rumors from Reham were floating ... well established journalists were alleging that Reham resorted to violence .... ofcourse ... we'll choose to forget that ...

Now as far as the CII recommendation goes ... more or less everyone stood against it ... because the ayat that is used to justify the act .... as per scholars like Ustaad Nouman Ali Khan is only applicable in the case of cheating ... anti-femanazis like me understood that and we stood with you on that issue .. and as far as I remember ... nothing "anti-woman" came up in to the framework of the law as a result of the recommendations by CII ...

Let me first establish what my point is ... Domestic violence isn't a gendered issue as both genders can be the victims and perpetrators of it. As far as the relative rates go ... you can check out the abstract of the literature review that I've quoted ... and you can go in to the details of the lit review and see for yourself ... It establishes that the myth of domestic violence being a "women issue" is just that ... a MYTH!

As far as your argument of

Thats a futile argument because your focusing on the group of the victim and not solving the problem ... and the problem is much more broader then just 50% of the population as I've stated previously ...
Lastly... as I've stated previously ... I've seen case studies of DV against men in Pakistan .. however I haven't seen a full blown statistics output like I've seen with something like the CDC or other independent scholars from the likes of the US and UK ... and those countries had similar attitudes towards domestic violence as us .. e.g. it's a women issue etc. But the stats tear that case apart don't they?

From Meesha Shafi’s powerful invite in front of a microphone saying, “Beat me with your voice” to Sana Bucha saying, “Beat me with your words”, the video is all about shattering the perception that women are feeble and weak.

Instead of giving some positive message they are giving flamebait under the disguise of Feminine Power.
Please UN do it at your home!! and that is WEST where this organisation actually belongs and work for.

As far as your argument of

Now give me stats about male even in west the figure is higher fir women despite their women having way more liberties this is a hacky argument in our society violence against women is treated as a domestic issues that should be resolved even when male is extremely violent

In the west the abuse victims are 50/50 male and female. Men don't speak out against domestic abuse for the fear of getting laughed at and not taken seriously. Whatever you have experience is not evidence of a general trend, and even in your own circles it's very much possible that a male victim of abuse did not speak out for the fear of being laughed at or not taken seriously.

In Pakistan, it is likely the case the case that majority of the victims are female but there's no studies to prove how much % of the victims are male and how common female on male domestic violence is.

I thought arguments involved you arguing for your narrative ... not stomping on your own narratives using your own feet.. :partay:

My friend, you've just proved my point ... You came up with a study which doesn't even INCLUDE MEN ... Something that has been driving me crazy because most of the studies pertaining to domestic violence with male victims in Pakistan are purely qualitative ... and when you actually go through them ... they are not all that comprehensive either .. Now as far as the "every second claim" one has to look at the sample size to generalize it like that .. add to it another complication that the claim states "some form of abuse" which also includes psychological ...

Anyways, based on the statistics that I've given.... which include the CDC and a lit review ... lets translate your argument ...

So in a collection of a 100 people lets say , 50 people are victims of some sort of abuse. Out of these 50, 30 belong to group A while 20 belong to group B. What your saying is ...

-Your solution - Leave the sizeable portion of the victims in Group B suffering and only focus on Group A.

-My argument - Screw the groups, focus on the problem. Devise solutions that focus on solving the problem rather then looking at the problem through the lens of groups ...


As far as Pakistan goes ... my argument still stands ... no real data is available for a fair comparison ... I can quote cases of extreme domestic violence against men ... threads that I know you've been on as well ... that more or less signifies that the problem affects both genders ... now if there is a problem that affects both genders ... why not have a solution through which every one can reap the benefits and society as a whole can improve ?

and if you wanna argue it more ... let me ask you a simple question ...

Using your very method of observation ... we can easily come to the conclusion that boys (in Pakistan) suffer more and harsher punishments then girls in schools, colleges, and in home (at the hands of parents and teachers etc.) .. Now where are the threads for that type of abuse ? ... or maybe we tend to forget boys and men even when they make the majority of the victim population ?
