At least eight of the front ranking figures in the ruling Bangladesh Awami League led coalition are secretly searching job with foreign institutions or organizations with the aim of joining the same from 2014. This was disclosed by an intelligence agency of a neighboring country vide a secret report, which was sent to the Prime Minister of that country. In the report it gave names and details of the individuals stating they already have submitted their curriculum vitae with some universities and think-tanks in United States seeking 'suitable job' from 2014. Amongst the candidates, there are people in the rank of advisors, ministers and state ministers as well as some influential lawmakers of the grand alliance coalition government. Two of the advisors, who earlier worked with US based university, submitted their curriculum vitae with the indication of joining the service from January 2014, while few of them are even willing to join the posts sometime next year.

The intelligence agency report said, such effort of the ruling party elites clearly indicate that they already are worried about harsh consequences if the ruling coalition sees defeat in the next general election. Some Bangladeshi intelligence agencies reportedly are also preparing secret files on the corruption, nepotism and various forms of illegal activities of the ruling coalition elites, which is being done beyond the knowledge of the policymakers. On the other hand, main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party has also reportedly set a research cell to collect various information and evidences pertaining corruption of some of the front-ranking figures in the current government in the country.

In the report, the intelligence agency of the neighboring country also categorically mentioned the name of one of the ministers of the coalition government, who is holding an importing ministry, of misappropriating "millions of dollars" through numerous forms of corruption since the current government took office in 2009. It said, only from the purchase of Urea fertilizer, the minister has been cashing US$ 100-150 million every year.

It said, the alleged minister's daughter has invested huge sum of money in a number of business ventures in Canada and Malaysia, while the minister's family is awaiting immigrant status in investor quota in one of the foreign nations.

The intelligence report names Agricultural Affairs Minister Motia Chowdhury, Home Minister Advocate Shahara Khan, Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid as "cleanest ministers in the cabinet", while it gives names of at least a dozen of ministers as well as some of the advisors in the government as "most corrupt" and makes them liable for the "serious decline in popularity" of the ruling party.

The report also said that the ruling coalition in Bangladesh is gradually becoming cornered as most of the mainstream newspapers in the country have turned "unfriendly", while the worst damage to the government is done by few of the newspapers, which were even in the recent past known as "favorable" to Bangladesh Awami League. Citing names of Daily Janakantha, Prothom Alo, Daily Bhorer Kagoj, Bangladesh Protidin, Kaler Kantho, Shamokal, Amader Somoy, The Independent etc of "playing hugely favorable role to Bangladesh Awami League" in the past has already moved to opposition quarters or newspapers like Daily Janakantha, Bhorer Kagoj, Amader Somoy etc have greatly lost the number of readers thus turning them into "minor" newspapers in the country.

The intelligence agency categorically mentioned Daily Prothom Alo, Daily Star, Daily Jugantor, Daily Manabzamin and Daily Kaler Kantho as "most responsible" for breaking recent financial scams as well as other controversies in Bangladesh, thus putting Bangladesh Awami League led coalition government into highest humiliation. It said, "These newspapers are engaged into syndicated propaganda against the ruling coalition government in Dhaka."

While mentioning the influence of pro-opposition newspapers in Bangladesh [on its readers] such as Dainik Dinkal, Dainik Amar Desh and Dainik Sangram, the report said, Dainik Dinkal and Dainik Sangram greatly lacks credibility as these are branded as mouthpiece of Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, while Dainik Amar Desh, which also is funded by pro-Jamaat people does not enjoy trustworthiness amongst the readers for its blunt criticism of the ruling coalition as well as for publishing imaginative reports.

The report identifies Dainik Prothom Alo, The Daily Star, Dainik Kaler Kantho, Dainik Bangladesh Protidin, Dainik Shamokal and Dainik Manabzamin as "most effective news tools" against the ruling coalition government. It said, Dainik Prothom Alo, with more than few million readers on its print and online edition plays major role in publishing series of scandals against the ruling party.

This is not new. Fakhruddin-Moinuddin and Co also jumped into their patron's lap soon after their 'term' was over. In this respect, at least, Khaleda Zia has to be respected more than other major leaders in BD. Others were ready to jump ship and leave BD, which is understandable, since they were never interested in the welfare of BDeshis. That's not to say that Khaleda Zia has no flaws of her own, or that her party has no flaws. Most people of BD who lived under their rule know very well the limitations and flaws of that party, and that of their rivals.

It is disgusting to know about the scale of corruption in the country by the present ruling party people. In order to punish the criminals it is necessary a CTG is established as before, and it is more of a reason that AL has very thoughtfully cancelled the CTG system. It will save their necks once out of power.

If elected next time BNP cronies will be too busy to do their own corruptions knowing there would be no CTG, rather than investigating today's corruptions. People are suffering today due to corruption-initiated high cost of imported food and this will continue unabated during the next govt.
