Barak-8 is India's answer to Pakistan's Harpoon Anti-Ship Missile

PAF chief has nothing to do with Cm400akg... It is for air arm of pakistan navy
Oh, you mean for the Lockheed P3C Orion, Brequet Atlantique, Sea King etc? AFAIK fast jets are flown exclusively by PAF, even if dedicated to naval strike (e.g. Mirage III/IV ROSE and successor JF-17)

there is no CM400 AKG deployed with PAF. This is misinformation.

Indeed. There is no supersonic anti ship weapon in Pakistani inventory, Navy or Airforce. It is not part of CONOPS. This comes from the Russian conops which Pakistan does not adopt. Rest all is online is misinformation.
So, Janes is wrong on this?

"Pakistan has fielded"
"now part of the operational weapon set of the JF-17"
"It is not conceptual, it is in service"

"Seeker options include an active radar seeker and an imaging infrared seeker with target recognition (TR)"

All this is great, BUT, where do you think this weapon would be employed? 2 Squadron? 8th Squadron? Definitely not Peshawar, so reporting live and directly from 2 Sq in Karachi (JF17 now being inducted) and 8th Sq (still Mir V PA2/PA3), there is no "carrier killer" missile here. Only, C802 is on order, yet to be integrated or tested. The only C802 versions tested is from various FAC, FACM, and F22 of PN.

However, you may continue to believe what you like. Indeed sounds really wonderful that Pakistan has a missile that "Does Not Exist" and still is in development in China. The dummies on show and inflight static tester makes great for news. Cherio.

As you could have read in my previous post, Janes has reported differently. Now, that could be wrong (Janes is not infallable). Then again, their sources typically are better than those of folks like me, that hobby on fora. If you think it is wrong, please share how and why and document. Just you saying so does not make it so.

Sqdrn 8 flies Mirage 5, I don't expect that to be the most-likely or first candidate for the missile. JF-17 squadrons would be the most likely candidates for it. That means no. 2, 16 and 26 sqdrns (16 is an OCU unit) and CCS Dashings. Now, considering 26 was made operational in February 2010, followed by 16 in April 2011, CCS in January 2015 and 2 in September 2015, I would expect new weapons to also be adopted in that order (or at least first with the 2 units that operate jf-17 the longest). That would not be no. 2 sqdrn.

C-802s were integrated on jf-17 a while ago.

News for Replica Watches : U.S. media questioned China's the CM-400AKG have service said similar BrahMos

[World Wide Web Roundup] According to the U.S. Global Strategic Network reported on November 23, China has its new CM-400AKG supersonic cruise missiles found the first foreign customer, namely Pakistan. However, the report pointed out that China the CM-400AKG missile is still in the research and development stage, there is no indication that this missile has been tested.
It is understood, CM-400AKG supersonic cruise missile a maximum range of 250 km, and its guidance system including GPS systems, airborne radar and image recognition to identify specific targets. Its solid rocket power unit, flight speed of more than Mach 4, can take advantage of high-speed flight capability breakthrough shipboard air defense network. It is reported, with the penetrators head and explosive warhead this new missile is mainly used for slow moving target against fixed targets and aircraft carrier.
Earlier, the United Kingdom, "Jane's Defence Weekly has said that Pakistan has its Air Force" Fierce Dragon "fighter equipped with the CM-400AKG missile. In an interview with "Jane's", Pakistan Air Force the Chan said the CM-400AKG missile is a
"Fully mature weapons test, the weapon is not a concept, but in service."
However, the U.S. Global Strategic Network article pointed out that, from the range, guided and speed, the Chinese the CM-400AKG of missile similar with India and Russia jointly developed BrahMos missile, but the former is still in the research and development stage, there is no evidence that it has been tested. U.S. Global Strategic Network article also believes that Pakistan "for sale" CM-400AKG missile may be a strategy of the Chinese manufacturers, is intended to determine whether subsection missiles worth the huge investment, in order to become a truly available missile.

I don't know the locations of the squadrons. But here some considerations:
  • The great thing about aircraft is that they can be moved easily.
  • Aircraft have an unrefuelled and a refuelled range, which gives you options
  • Key assets shouldn't be placed within easy strike distance of the most likely opponent i.e. not near India
  • Perhas other areas are also to be guarded, not just the location of the most likely opponent e.g. Arabian Sea, direction Hormuz

The No. 16 and 26 squadrons are based out of Peshawar, i.e. their main operating base. That said, being Peshawar units doesn't necessarily preclude them from being deployed to other areas of Pakistan (especially when Karachi can evidently manage JF-17s).

Distance between Peshawar and Karachi is 1101 kilometers (684 miles)
JF-17 unrefuelled combat radius is 1,352 km (840 mi). Which leaves 250km plus your missile range to play with from Peshawar, assuming you fly back again to Peshawar. But this would reduce response time. So coastal base might be better. Ferry range is 3,482 km (1,880 NM), so an easy hop to Karachi if need be, either before or after a mission.

Its been tested and is qualified on jf 17.... whether pakistan has acquired it or not is up for question not functionality of the missile

Combat radius at what weapon load and flight profile and speed + the combat radius advertised by the OEM is the radius at best suited speed and altitude and the radius of 1352 looks dubius, which could only be possible with zero weapon load, and 3 drop tank and speed of 0.9 match at 2500 feet because even f-16 has the combat radius of 500 KM with 2WVR, and 2 LGB with Hi-lo-hi profile on its internal fuel.

First how CMK 400AKG is a carrier killer which it is been advertised, because it cannot be a carrier killer because it would need more than 50 hits to distroy a carrier completely. Second can you post the link, which shows the testing of CMK 400 AKG by chinese, and its ready for deployment. Third I agree with bilalkhan777 that, it is only the marketing strategy of the Chinese for its JF-17 for its sale, because JF-17 is a pretty ordinary fighter jet, but its the weapon package which is very attractive. Last display in a some event is just a dummy weapon, it donot prove that the Missile is ready.

Man grow-up you are not going to grocery shop where just for advertisement you can put a picture of super hot model,,, these things are marketed by sdome professional organizations where credibility is one of the most important thing,,, so who will even negotiate for a deal where dumies are being marketed for under development weapons??? From where you guys come up with sum bull shit comments,, how you make them up ???

Miss reporting at its hight... Same article quoted Brahmos is in research phase and construction of production factories,,, it means that it is an old news... and further this is also picked from some blog and not from any authentic source ...

" "BrahMos" missile 9.4 m, a diameter of 670 mm, an upgraded version of the Russian "gem" (NATO reporting name SS-NX-26) missile, which is the end of the Cold War in 1991, is still in the research and development stage. Lack of completed research and development projects and launch missile research and development required $ 24 million in funding required for the production process, the Russian manufacturer eventually reached an agreement with India, which completed most of the money.
At present, Russia and India are under construction, "BrahMos" missile, Russia to help India build in charge of production patrol missile parts factory. India and Russia plan to export 2000 subsection missiles, but has not yet received orders. Russia and India are investing in the development of "Brahmos II missile, the second stage of this missile scramjet, instead of a jet engine. This will allow the missile's speed is doubled, and further increase the difficulty of this defense missiles."

was the AM-39 carrying mirages deployed in the North of Pakistan? Aircraft are suited to role and theatre.

So how did a plane JF-17 which had 135Km detection range for naval ship can use a full range of CM400 against a highly protected carrier group by Mig -29 and EL/M-2248 MF-STAR is going to guide it's SAM Barak --1 and Barak - 8 and AK-630 close-in anti-missile gun system

@Penguin please give some input on same
