Banned Kashmiri militant outfits re-emerging in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Various militant organisations, including the Hizbul Mujahideen, are re-emerging in Pakistan, especially in Karachi, after they remained underground for past several years, it was reported on Saturday.

Dawn News TV said activists of some sectarian organisations had carried out wall chalking, hoisted their flags and displayed posters to inform the public about their activities, including gatherings in mosques in Karachi.
The channel also quoted sources in banned militant outfits as saying that these organisations were active under new names and venues, adding that they had recently held large rallies in Karachi.

Prominent outfits like the Harkatul Mujahideen, the Hizbul Mujahideen and the Al-Badar the militant outfits fighting in India's Jammu and Kashmir - have established their new offices, Daily Times said.

The Harkatul Mujahideen has moved its base from Islamabad to the outskirts of Rawalpindi, and is likely to rename itself as the Insarul Ummah.

The Jaish-e-Muhammad leadership is meeting in Bahawalpur over the weekend to finalise a new name for their outfit.
The Harkat-e-Jihad-e-Islami is holding a gathering May 4 in Kotli in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

The United Jihad Council led by the Hizbul Mujahideen met Monday in order to discuss a new strategy, the media reported.

My cousin has came back a week ago from pakistan and confimed what has just been posted........theres a mass recruitment drive by the freedom fighters.

The past years have shown to all that the only way to deal with india is force,the peace process has got got us nowhere......the indians have not moved 1 inch on the issue.

A renewed jehad is what is needed in kashmir........

Oh really, why don't you join the "freedom fighters" then. I am sure you wont. You only want the young and innocent pakistanis, who have nothing to do with Kashmir, to be killed by the Indian forces.

Its good to watch and talk. We have lost enough blood and resources for the so called Kashmir freedom fight. Read my posts on the thread "Why India will never leave Kashmir" and you will know.

People like Dabong are most likely sitting safely in some western country and want poor youth to die while they cheer from the sidelines.

Why doesn't he join them and see if he survives a week in Kashmir?

Do you think these cannon fodder can achieve what your large (600,000) military could not (after appropriating most of your country's resources for so long).

I have seen many people who have such views. As long as those who are dying in such mindless violence are others, they are enthusiastic cheerleaders. But rarely do such people themselves come forward for this.

I hope you will do what you expect some other poor youth to do (and take out a good insurance cover beforehand).

If you are so much for Pakistan and Indian friendship, you can start by not making fun of Islam.

Jihad is when Islam or Muslims are under a legitimate threat. The current body count can fool a lot of people...
Any Muslim can fight for the injustice of another Muslim. Its the way things work. If you dont like it, avoid making mass graves of Kashmiris.

First of all our active army component in Kashmir is more like some 100,000 plus. Where as 600,000 is around the number of soldiers YOU people have in Kashmir. So lets all try to have a meture discussion please; useless sledging will not prove your worth or prove your point.

Concept of militant outfit is wrong.

They should join the Pakistan army and go on covert missions into Kashmir.

I just can't imagine militants not doing things wrong once or twice. They have no fear of court martials.

I can't imagine them knowing good hand to hand combat like the army is trained for.

Heck probably the only criteria needed to join them is "I want to kill Indians!!!"

Missions are not accomplished like this. Sure we can drag this thing for eternity, but you have to ask yourself are we winning? I know India is spending millions onto Kashmir but still its not yet upto the amount where India can't afford it.

I'm not against fighting it out with India when it comes to taking Kashmir. But we need to do things that work.

Out of all the groups mentioned above, I think only Hizb has had some decent success rates, but nothing like what we need.

Democracy has a funny way doesnt it? Are you saying Indians only sympathize for the minority Pundits, while the majority Kashmiri Muslim population has to live suppressed?

Not supporting violence, but supporting 700 000 of your troops to police the Muslim majority state is an oxymoron.
