Bangladeshi tourists in India cross 1.6 million in 10 months

Sir I asked you a question. Fish price imported from Bangladesh to UK cost less than the one sold in India. Again Bangladesh is importing fish from India. How it is possible in economic scale?
For the second part I just wanted to prove Bangladeshi restaurants try to banner themselves as genuine Indian One to attract customers. Otherwise nobody would have written Authentic Vegeterian North Indian dish.

Like @Jacksparrow47 said, let's open a separate thread instead of discussing OT topic here.

Think about the 1.6 millions of tourist. They went to India with tourist visa right? 2/3 of them or more will visit their doctors too atleast one time.
Tourist is now a broader term.Anyone who use any two of the five elements of tourism(accommodation, foods, transports, shopping and sight seeing) are considered a tourist. So 1.6 million who go there with tourist visa, medical visa or business all are tourist. Those who gone there with medical visa is considered medical tourist by Indian govt. agency.Currently Bangladeshi(or other countries) patient are not allowed to receive medical facilities with visa other than medical visa.So you can say that, the number of Bangladeshi who gone there with medical visa is about the same as who treated in their hospital. It might be somewhat more but no way 3-4 times larger than genuine medical tourist.
Wrong statistic. The problem is you heavily rely on online news links and their analysis!
But those are far from reality. The reality is different. It is not correct that more than half of indian hospitals are full of bangladeshi, but there are significant numbers of bangladeshi peoples go to India to take treatment, and they are much larger in number than this 2 percent statistics.
How it is wrong? Do you have any statistics supporting your claim? Every year 20 million people receive medical treatment in Bangladeshi hospitals. So 2 percent of it means 4 lakh patient who go to overseas.Do you think, 4 lakh is a small number? Largest number of Bangladeshi patient goes to India for treatment and Indian govt. is telling us that 165,000 Bangladeshi patient took treatment in their hospital in the last year which is one third of total foreign patient they receive. Have you any reason not to believe this data? Next comes, Thailand, Singapore, USA or other countries. Do you think, a country like Singapore or USA will take Bangladeshi patient without medical visa? Are those number of medical visa will exceed the number of Indian medical visa for Bangladeshi? The big answer of these question is NO.So my estimate of 2 percent or 4 lakhs is about near of the real figure.Sometimes our perception deceive us about the real magnitude of things. For example, sometimes I can't believe that we import only 20k reconditioned car every year when I see the number of car in our roads. But it is true. All the data suggest it.So what shall I believe? My eyes or the undeniable data? Obviously the data.

Actually few peopels go there you know. Not all can afford travelling USA or Singapore.
What I wanted to say that statistics really do not tell all the truth. If you visit and stay someday near border area you will even see that lots of people often do daily bazars from India, and most of them have no passport or visa.
.
Currently Bangladeshi(or other countries) patient are not allowed to receive medical facilities with visa other than medical visa.
Is it new law? Don't know much of it. But just one question, if someone went to Kolkata before with medical visa and then later go with travel visa and also meet his/her doctor, will they (hospitals) check their visa?
Well if they are seriously sick and need to admitted in hospital, then visa can be an issue isn't it?
But if you want to meet doctor personally with old recommendation, is medical Visa still necesarry?

Yes, it is a new law. Most of our patient who goes to India are chronic patient.Suffering for a long time. For these type of patient, time needed to acquire medical visa is tolerable.Sudden emergency like Cardiac arrest, heart block or MI, enough time often not available even to take the victim to nearest hospital. So taking India or any foreign countries is out of question in this type of situation.Cardiac patient can be taken overseas, once they became stable in local hospital.I think, some form of emergency/quick visa is available for such cases.Currently India provide long term multiple entry visa to Bangladeshi citizen who visit India regularly. So it is very expected that this facility will apply to patients as well who use medical visa. You can search internet for more details.I am not currently interested to search/study more about Indian visa procedure.Thanks.

Yah you do not need medical visa to do consultancy style visits and outpatient kind of things. I mean officially you do, but hospitals by hippocratic oath do not enforce that. It is only an issue if they need overnight hospital stay because of treatment/surgery etc...and the hospital (either the indian one if they already contacted, or the BD counterpart) will give them the letter etc for that to apply for the visa in BD itself anyway.

Many Bangladeshis combine various reasons for visiting India given they are spending the money for travel....very few are coming purely for medical only so the medical visa stats are not really accurate.

I welcome legal BD visitors to India whatever has been said on this forum from both sides (like cpl little bros smacking each other)....because Bangladeshis are decent people overall when they not stuck in online forum dramabaaz :P

I implore you not to take the language in this forum too seriously, you seem a reasonable chap.

Fair enough ! Since I have joined here ,I saw many melodrama , and I understand that in order to counter melodrama sometimes even reasonable persons can be frustrated too and there is no option left but to counter offense with offensive style.
And not only drama but also I observed some racist remarks from some of my country men to some other peoples , and those irritated me extremely .

We are in modern world and here we have no place for such crap like racism , bullying, melodrama ,personal abuse etc .
And most of my pdf country folks must have to understand it . Thank you .:-)

Yes I do not want to fingerpoint who started what bad behaviour (I think all sides guilty on this forum in the end incl. me)...but when I first got here can you imagine it I was very pro - BD, number of BD members who are full on "enemies" here now to me were even inviting me to visit BD and call me bhai etc etc lol. How the bad blood over time destroys that so easily! I do regret to some level it happened....I wish BD people here were more genuine stoic, confident in their country (rather than just projecting it)....I don't think they would have degraded themselves like so (and not even admit it like I have done number of times now) and they probably would have kept me as an ally or at least neutral lol (for this forum that is...i am pro BD in real life overall). Oh well....thats why I say to not take it too serious....I doubt any of these folks are really like in real life what they portray here....at least I hope not, because BD people overall that I know are some good friendly chaps.
