Bangladeshi topis being lost to China

The Saree market is dying anyways... with more women choosing to go for modern Salwar-Kameez or even switching to denims and tops. Besides Chinese labor cost is going up .. so figure it out oh Robinson :)

Now on a serious note, coming from the garment field, a lot of Chinese investment IS going into Bangladesh garment manufacturing due to high operating / labor cost in China. Lot of investment from China is going into low labor environments like Cambodia, Sri Lanka, East Africa and also slowly but steadily into Bangladesh.

So - Bangladeshis - doncha worry :) JO upar jata hein, niche ayega.. topi ho ya lungi ho :)

great idea.as far as i know india is still a closed economy.but no one can keep independent from the econemy globalization today, or else it will be forever a third world country.
although it's hard to imagine that a country ban another to save its low end clothing industry, i believe india can do that, recently 1.2 billion people crying for the planet spyers,so nothing is imposible in this crazy world.

You are good at jumping from one point to another one totally irrelevant in the context.Saree having a market only in India will certainly enable us to have a greater say on the globalization of it. And come with your dipping wet panties gloating when you actually are in a position to challenge the local industry. And planets or whatever the chinese ran away from OUR territory every time INDIAN ARMY showed up.This stupid chinese adventures are nothing more than wasre of resources.Last time they even begged for food during an incursion!..such lowlifes

A bunch of what?

Now don't insult your own country by talking about begging for food.

As for the Ladakh incident, we all know how it went down.

Indian troops suspend patrols at Chumar - Times Of India

NEW DELHI: Apart from dismantling a SET of strategically-located bunkers at Chumar as part of an arrangement to end the standoff at Depsang Bulge in eastern Ladakh, the Indian troops seem to have suspended patrols to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Chumar, at least for now. Senior officials briefed by personnel on the ground said the Army has discontinued the round-the-clock patrolling it was undertaking in the area for the last few months.

Lol hahahahaha

Lol what a bunch

However, after a usual face-off drill,
the Chinese troops who had to walk
down a long stretch to reach Chumar,
sought assistance in getting some
food as they had run out of their
stock, the sources said.
While no food was provided as the
troops did not carry it with them,
some cans of juices were given to
the PLA soldiers, the sources said,
adding the Chinese troops then
retreated into their area. This is from The Hindu

Indians you laughed too early,we can destroy your saree industry whenever we want.
we have complete industrial system and developed transportation. so we buy most the raw materials cheaper than in other countries, our factories have good facilities and workers are hard working though the laborforce isn't cheap any longer.thats why MADE IN CHINA is everywhere.

O.K for this I would like to accept the challenge. Start a saree industry and see what happens to your saree industry. As some Indian members point out that India should impose tax and banning etc, lets allow your make sarees into our country without any obstacle. Lets see the result as you boast. Saree is not Topi or Lungi. It's a India woman's soul. You know even 90% of men of India cannot judge the choice of sarees of their wives/GFs. The choice and the design of sarees change by hours. There are countless design and choice of sarees varying from region to region. You travel to all the parts of India and the choice of sarees varies from states to states depending upon the language, culture, religion and what not. You will simply become frustrated. And mind it Women in India are more patriotic and quality conscious regarding sarees. If they happens to know it is Chinese make, then it is a gone case, they will never buy.
