Bangladeshi police official held by BSF

Comilla, Sept 26 (UNB) – A police official of Burichong thana was caught by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) as he accidentally entered India while chasing miscreants in the border area on Tuesday night.

The police official was identified as Nurunnabi, assistant sub-inspector of the police station.

Officer-in-charge of Burichong thana Shahnewaz said he inadvertently entered Indian Tripura State while chasing a gang of drug peddlers at Ghilatoli in Burichong upazila at about 9:30pm on Tuesday.

Indian people caught the police official from Ashabari in Tripura and later handed him over to BSF after beating him.

The police official was not released till filing of this report at 2pm on Wednesday.

Though he crossed Intl border, which was illegal, still i feel, he is a brave man and was doing his duty(if at all the news is correct).

BSF shd release him immediately.
