Bangladeshi PM inaugurates mining work of China-funded tunnel project

Karnaphuli Tunnel would be must better name
Whatever name the BAL party people give it will ultimately be called Karnaphuli Tunnel by the users and the public. Same is with Jamuna Bridge and Padma Bridge. Because of this wild habit of BAL to name everything in the name of Mujib, there came a time when people started writing "Mujib Toilets" on the walls of the public toilets.

The public wrote so many things also over the banknotes that forced the BAL govt to issue a warning that the Banks would not receive notes with anything written on them. This is how the writings were stopped.

The diameter of this tunnel boring machine is 12.12 meter. The machine with a 15.8 m dia has been named "Chunfeng" in China. What may be the name of this machine in BD?

There is a big chance that the chinese company may get work to build tunnel for metro rails... @Two

I didnt believe this project was going to happen when it first came out in 2011, especially with the padma bridge situation. Glad to see work being finally starting on it.

I dunno why AL government use someone elses name for the tunnel. I mean why not name it after someone who had a huge impact on our academia or a notable native of chittagong.

BD is not worth of a friend to China. It's just waste of investment there!

You think China is doing BD any favours here?

BD is the fastest industrialising large economy in the world and expected to stay this way till 2030 at least.

China wants a slice of the wealth that is being generated in BD.

That is basically an Indian mentality. You are more like Indians than Paks. You are much much overestimating your size and potential, Mr., thinking that you are doing China a favour by purchasing J-7s, T-96s or the 2nd hand subs, or giving a difficult engineering project such as the ones mentioned above that nobody else in the world can accomplish! You people are opportunists.

If China don't favour cooperation with BD or cut the lending you will soon become bengalis of Indian citizens. You deserve to be an Indian.

Do you know China's "non-interference" policy? We are neutral.
