If my daughter had not decided to pursue her career, and then her higher studies, I could have had a grand-daughter about the age of these kids. I always wanted a grand-daughter, but my grandson has turned out to be such a charmer that I've decided to shut up and enjoy the situation.

Appreciation of beauty knows no bound of age, ethnicity, religion or social status.:-)

He's a charmer. I wish I knew how to put WhatsApp video clips onto a message. I'm 67, btw; you may call me 'jethu', except that we'll both be banned for use of regional language.
ahahaha nah, i will call you elder bro, young in heart :D

Not a good idea, not any longer.

You've just won yourself a dinner, with a refreshing prelude if you are so inclined, whenever we meet.

I do not agree with you. Age should not be a factor. Not in marriage but in friendship or co-habitation.

By the way, I didn't know it earlier, but it seems Bengali actress have a strong presence in South Indian film. Not only the one I have posted here but a lot of other Bengali actress are also working there. It is quite fascinating considering the huge language barrier. What do you think?

Even though some of the excesses of Tamil, and a derivative, Telugu film-making puts off people, the fact is that both variations span an incredible range of ouvres. They are both marked by a high degree of discipline and attention to production values. As a result, compared to Hindi films, or compared to other, malnourished regional film variations, actors and actresses prefer to work in this disciplined and relatively orderly milieu, with the added bonus that the devotion of fans far exceeds what you might find among Bollywood fans.

These are both obviously attractive factors for Bengali actresses. However, many artistes look at this 'south Indian' movie industry as an intermediate platform, to be used after getting a firm footing on their own platforms, and to be superseded by Bollywood once they have gained enough attention.

Agree, Another factor is, South Indian films are heavily male hero oriented.Heroine there have very little space other than looking pretty and doing romantic sequence with the hero.So girls with glamour, many of them from northern part of India gain easy access. Because southern audience are not bothered about their acting skill or language pronunciation, they have to just look pretty and flirt with the hero.So many Punjabi, Bengali or Hindi speaking actress can work there to gain reputation and familiarity.

. . . . .
There's an artistic and literary exchange between West Bengal and Kerala owing mostly to the Communist connection.

I've seen some argue that Vidya Balan is a Bangali. :coffee:

Even though I like Kamalini, the one I'm really a fan of is Shreya Ghoshal for the ease with which she pronounces other languages.
