BD economy is $186+ billion
you just screwed with yourself :crazy:

LOL!

@Nihonjin1051

Quite a few things need to be considered while judging Sheikh Hasina ji.

1. Hasina ji's Awami League won the elections making Hasina ji, Bangladesh's democratically elected leader ,irrespective of the boycott by Khaleda Zia( the main opposition leader) . Please note that these rival opposition parties has extremist leanings.And many of these opposition leaders were even demanding Sharia laws to be implement in a secular Bangladesh.She always took prudent decisions to reign in these extremists-element which was seen many as a crack down on political freedom/political rivals.

2.During the Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971, Awami League led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was instrumental in making BD an independent country. Sheikh Hasina is his daughter & holds a special place in all Bangladeshi's heart. Many of these so called "opposition parties" was more worried about religion when Bangladesh was fighting for freedom

3. Under her leadership when the global economy was reeling from the effects of economic recession, BD succeeded in maintaining GDP growth rate above 6%. In stark contrast to global economic crisis, Bangladesh recorded an increase in the rate of both import and export and the volume of foreign remittance.
Bangladesh has established a globally competitive garments industry, moved ahead of India in particular areas of human development and gender parity and drastically reduced aid dependency under her tenure. She is really a very capable economists unlike many of her rivals who wrecked BD economy by taking economically regressive decisions.

So she indeed is a true patriot who care more about her country than how people perceive her. For me she is Deng Xiaoping of Bangladesh.

Absolutely ! Eloquently stated , @Lord Zen .

No leadership is 'free' of foreign influence. Anyways, like I said before, Madam Hasina may not be perfect, but her policies regarding comprehensive Bangladeshi development cannot be ignored. As we speak, there are projects all over Dhaka, Chittagong , the country is growing at over 6% ! I say let Bangladesh develop for 10-15 years unperturbed. When the country's HDI level is increased at a particular level, when Bangladeshis enjoy a GDP per capita well over 10,000 USD per year, then they should consider political, judicial reforms et al.

Take for example China. Take for example South Korea. Take for example Japan. During the early years of national development , political leaders such as Syngman Ree, Park Chung Hee, Mao Zedong, were considered abrasive, and not the most open in regards to human rights. But they focused on national development first. Afterwards, when the nation experienced a degree of development, then did they implement reforms.

@Shotgunner51 , do you not agree?

@Genesis , buddy, your thoughts?

Well said bro

I take these South Asian affairs with a huge chunk of salt.

There's a proud country with a crazy media. If even half their stories are true, that make them more successful and powerful than the US.

Bangladesh needs to keep some libelous media outlets in check. For the sake of views they would sacrifice national development. I hope that Bangladesh keeps steady and applies some economic models seen in China and Korea and Japan. With a population already over 150 million, they have the capability to become another export center. With improved infrastructure, improvement in energy supplies, this country (Bangladesh) can be the center of eastern region of South Asia.

There is also potential to link Bangladesh's market to the rest of continental ASEAN, China and India through HSR lines. There's a lot of money to be made here, and I sure hope Bangladesh and Japan forge together.

Cry my tears out ... :tup:

Excessive media rabble rousing ! Some of the things they say about their leaders is already libel !

Are you simply dumb or what,a Govt has everything to do with the development of Industrial sector

Are you a retard, government provides the infrastructure (roads, sewage, gas lines, electricity, etc). Also, try to look up into the waste disposal system of Bangladesh, there is none.

Yes, all GOODs are automatic and all BADs are for the govt :hitwall:

Great going BD, great going Hasinaji. Have good relation with both India and China to sustain the momentum, use us as much as possible. Oh yes, control the destabilising forces and Mullahs to bring stability.
How is the conversion of all non-hindus into hindus going, keep your RSS crap in India.

"It should be noted that Japan, the largest bilateral development partner of Bangladesh, has been significantly contributing to the socioeconomic development of the latter since her birth. In particular, they have always extended their generous assistance in crucial sectors for development like poverty alleviation, power generation and human resources development. According to the Economic Relations Division (ERD), till date, Japan has provided Bangladesh with $11 billion by way of assistance, of which $3350 million was grants and, $4100 million was loans.

This recently concluded visit has been hailed by many for opening new dimensions of cooperation between the two, already very friendly, nations. In total, 21 agreements were signed between the two countries during the four-day visit. Japan and Bangladesh jointly launched the “Japan Bangladesh Comprehensive Partnership”. The former pledged the latter $6 billion in assistance over the next five years by way of implementing the Bay of Bengal Industrial Growth Belt (Big-B) plan. Exchange of notes between the two countries were signed regarding the 35th package of the Official Development Assistance (ODA), under which Bangladesh is receiving $1.18 from Japan for a number of major projects.

Various incentives were offered to Japanese businessmen for investing in Bangladesh including the promise of an exclusive industrial park and special allocations in existing export processing zones (EPZs). Initiatives have been taken to hold regular foreign secretary level talks on politics and security issues. Dhaka and Tokyo will start a joint Bangladesh-Japan Public Private Economic Dialogue to promote trade and investment."

Please next time give a non-AL site. The level of corruption in Bangladesh is sky-high. Thanks to BAL there is no Padma bridge (corruption).

They do the reforms
They decide the policy

Role of a government is not just to create Infra......it has got to do everything from uprooting corruption to ensuring a healthy growth rate

I don't have much idea on corruption but Hasina is doing pretty good with the economy
