Bangladesh wants enhanced rail link with India

Yah, someone have to lead the Bengali speaking ppl dude. That is us, the Independent Bengali ppl. How many year the loser bengali ppl in Indian side would be dependent on u? History repeats of Bengal getting smaller/greater. Guess in which way we the Bengal is heading.

After losing Darjeeling to Gorkhaland u will see the face of Heartbroken WB bengalis. The realization is bound to happen, who won after partition? Bangladeshies? or the Indian - Bengalis at the WB?

Fine, like I said Good luck to you with that. As for the other crap. I'm not going to bother replying.

o_O Are you honestly threatening an Indian with the Bangladeshi army? Wow. You have a lot of faith in your nations armed forces.

Dont forget about the roumari incident where BDR smashed BSF incursion. BD claims: upto 100 BSF kills, Indian claims: 16 bsf kills.

And, dont forget about the BD armies reputation in the UN peace keeping force. And, its contribution there. Do some research on internet about BD armies success with the UN Peace Keeping force. DUD-E.

show me where I said bangladesh will annex NE India ... what I said bd government should remain neutral in that case as bengalis at the assam are about to be majority with muslim majority and most of them has ancestor from present day bangladesh... so far they are silent but the way Indian radical hindu politicians are ranting against them they are just alienating them.. so in the future no can rule out the possibility that they will also claim separate assam like the majority of the people... as they will be majority ... so their opinion will play a big role there... N merging of assam to bangladesh will happen if it separate from India only if the people of assam wants... Bengali muslim majority with ancestor from bangladesh give a shining possibility for that... I also said even if this merger do not happen we should keep a very good brotherly relation with them...

Sorry. I'm allergic to verbal diarrhoea.

Do not forget that even shaikh mujibor rahman of present PM hassina's father has talked about it and had agenda for this...

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in his book, Myths of Independence wrote, "It would be wrong to think that Kashmir is the only dispute that divides India and Pakistan, though undoubtedly the most significant. One at least is nearly as important as the Kashmir dispute, that of Assam and some districts of India adjacent to East Pakistan. To these Pakistan has very good claims."

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his book, Eastern Pakistan: Its Population and Economics, observed, "Because Eastern Pakistan must have sufficient land for its expansion and because Assam has abundant forests and mineral resources, coal, petroleum etc., Eastern Pakistan must include Assam to be financially and economically strong".

When even hardly any bangladeshi news paper published such news with such title ... why this bharti newspaper are publishing this type of misleading information to give the impression that it is bd who is seeking this rail line link not India but every one knows it is meant to provide free transit to India...

Nothing published in this regard from the Bangladesh media counterpart.

It is the India who awaited for the transit since 1971. It was we, who ignored the indian proposal for many years definitely cant request a rail link to india. lol.

I bet all these news sources I have quoted from are AL mouthpiece eh. Either that or you guys dwell in some sort of parallel universe ? :coffee:

None of the newspaper published that news with headline and published as a non important part in the middle of the news as the reaction would be obvious... but whatever the matter this rail connectivity is part of free transit deal and as it is not gonna bring any benefit to bangladesh it must be stopped by all means... N AL must stop this bharat appeasement by trying to cover such deals by giving bharatis the chance that we did not ask for it bd government asked for it.. where as it is well proven history from 1972 bhartis has been asked for transit but no government has given such deal to India.... If bd is doing also due to USA pressure it must be disclosed before the country... as we know USA is trying to use India as a lapdog against china.

Its all about the audience you know. Water sharing deal has no importance for Indians but its vital for Bangladeshis, thats why you see emphasis on that issue in Bangladeshi media. Enhanced rail link with Bangladesh is of importance to Indian businesses so you see Indian media emphasizing on that point. Even then all the articles both Indian and Banglideshi ones are quoting from the press release of Banglidesh Embassy in Delhi so its not some cooked up fabricated story.

This rail connectivity issue brought up in this meeting by your minister and mentioned in the article has got nothing to do with the Indian transit deal. You know how you guys blame AL all the time, but aren't government officials the same. Surely they don't change with the change in power from BNP to AL? All these sorta bilateral deals are assessed and scrutinized by these top level government employees like cabinet secretaries and such. AL might be favoring India by bringing up such deals but at the end of the day if the secretariat thinks that such deals are not beneficial at all for Bangladesh they will never allow such deals to go through.

Who am I kidding though, you probably know all this, but you choose to ignore it on purpose. Cause there is nothing more exciting than trashing AL and Indians on PDF.

I think that's a brilliant plan, absolutely brilliant. Only...

Furthermore,

India

"Bangladeshi immigrants also cross the border to find jobs in India. India's BSF maintains a shoot-at-sight policy for any illegal entrants. Each year hundreds of Bangladeshis lose their lives at the hand of BSF while trying to cross the border. "

Just to remind you some stat ... instaed the Indian media that deed all of you... In the last 10 year 1000 bangladeshi were killed hardly any of them were illegal migrants instead of them were poor farmers or cow traders. Saying 1000s of Bangladeshi cross Indian border for searching work and not providing any proof for that is double edged hypocrisy... N killing of 1000 people means 100 per year on average this is not couple of 100s and this also means BSF is so far not able to detect any major influx of migration and not scoring more killing of innocent people despite as you have said BSF's main intention is to shoot to kill is another prime example... if even after such fence and closely monitored BSF outposts your murderer BSF can not detect any illegal migrants it is better for your government to abolish such useless org.

Do not try to be naive.. there were news about this for some time ... all these are part of free transit deal.. but all of them are caving up one by one .. n indias water sharing deal is part of eye wash or to extend the water transhipment protocol which was signed in 1972 but has no legal basis or necessity... n India just assured about the deal but still did not provided any water... even dipu moni said few months back if it takes so many years even just to get water sharing deal for 1 river then it will take 1000 year to get the deal for all 53 river. N India is not doing any favor... by giving legal share of bd's water it is bd's right... it is same as saying Israel now wants to discuss settlement issue...where as whole settlement is illegal.

.
hey kiddos whats up with all the fist fights? India is :bounce: for the rail link what does illegal immigration has anything to do with this? :undecided:

If there is a rail link we'd be flooded by indians anyways. I don think this rail line will ever be materialized. Even if it does it'll be canceled in the future by someone else because it'll cause too much of a hassle for our peaceful country.
Therefore it was just a stupid move by the Indians.:pop:

Mate once again the rail links Rohanpur-Singhabad and Birol-Prabatipur are part of the Rail link for Bangladesh to Nepal through India. These rail link have got absolutely nothing to do with the Indian transit through Bangladesh. Look up all the projects that are meant to be undertaken with the 1 Billion USD credit line. It doesn't include these rail projects. Here have a read,

The Himalayan Times - Nepal, Bangladesh to sign MoU for rail link - Today's Editions News
KATHMANDU: Nepal and Bangladesh are expected to enter into a historical treaty next month when they sign proposed MoU for a rail link between the two countries via India.

Two rail routes have been proposed to carry Nepali goods to Bangladesh. First, Mongla-Khulna- Rohanpur - Singabad-Raxaul-Birganj (India-Nepal check post). Second, Mongla-Khulna-Biral-Radhikapur-Jugbani-Biratnagar (India-Nepal check post).

Transit planned but rail tracks in sorry state
Hundred-year-old railway tracks and stations in Chapainawabganj are in a deplorable condition although the governments of Bangladesh and India have agreed to use Rohanpur-Singhabad rail link for transporting goods to Nepal from Bangladesh.

A railway link between Rohanpur and Singhabad of Indian Maldah district to facilitate transit from Bangladesh to Nepal through India was decided during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's recent visit to India.

About 80 percent sleepers of 52-kilometre Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi route and 39-kilometre Chapainawabganj-Amnura-Rohanpur route are damaged and without adequate stone chips, railway department sources said.

To avoid accident on the risky route, trains run very slowly, between 10 and 15 kilometres an hour, still at least five incidents of train derailment occurred on the two routes last year, they said.

The railway tracks on Chapainawabganj-Rohanpur route, which is important for export-import business, got damaged due to lack of maintenance in last three decades, said Mohammad Moniruzzaman, stationmaster of Chapainawabganj railway station.
