the most pathetic thing is that ,u ppl post things related to india wrt ur country and always find negative in it and start to jump here n there
Yeah we saw that with Airtel in your BD... .thats what I was referring to. But anyways... if you say the demand for Indian good is decreasing in BD, then isn't this FTA a good deal for you guys? Shouldn't we be the ones complaining then?Bharati companies taking over BD is not the issue as the demand of Indian goods are decreasing in BD due to increase of quality of BD goods compaered to previous years. But in some cases we still need some development and need access bharati market to capture that. Until India is giving such access there are no reason for signing such deal. The other concern is that majority of the bharati goods come to bangladesh through smmugling not through legal ways. We still need improvement in the ligh industry and steel manufacturing to save those industries from bharati destructive agenda through this FTA.

Read my post what I said is that there should be a level playing field and this FTA should lead to reduce the trade deficit not widen it and Bangladesh government should make sure this agreement will not lead to destruction of the vulnerable industries due to this agreement and must make sure easy access of BD goods to India.

You do know that the FTA is mutual right. There will be equal opportunities for BD companies to access the Indian market and your steel and light inductry manufacturing will benefit if you claim that they are superior to Indian products. So whats here to loose?
Steel and light manufacturing fields has a bright prospect in BD but lack of power is hampering this sector most then any other sector and we just can not let this sector destruct by allowing bharati goods to flood the market with this FTA. There are also many other issues.
There you go... you need power, we need transit. India has committed to provide you around 300MW of power from next year onwards. So think of these as win-win for both the countries and their people.
Why are you trying to convince him... Leave him at his pity ful condition.. They are not gonna change...
Hey... I should be allowed to have my quota of fun on PDF... don't I? ...
I try to avoid such threads where people are so anti-development and want to remain in medieval age... but once in a while I can't resist
This is really a ridiculous move to sign such a deal with the bharatis before clearing it to the nation how it is gonna benefit bd and whether it will reduce or more widen the trade gap with India and will flood the local market with Indian goods... Other then clearing all these it will not be wise to sign such deals.
If the same deal would have been signed with China..these guys would be singing songs about the Chinese,,..pathetic
Bangladesh to sign FTA with India this year
Bangladesh is also negotiating FTAs with Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, he said.
