Bangladesh : The Asian Tiger Myth vs Reality

BD is an Asian tiger? What a cat talk! BDers should consider that you might be better off being East Bengal of India. Then you would look like an Indian tiger.

Hey dude.....

You aware that just 200 years ago, BD may have been the wealthiest region in the world?
It's shipbuilding tech was the best in the world at the time.

It's economy now looks very similar to the Asian "Tigers" of the past.

If you come here uninvited and start talking trash about Bangladesh, you will get reply and will be shown the realities in Pakistan. Isn't it simple?

Uninvited? I was tagged here by a friend, otherwise you don't see me here at all. I have no interest in Bangladesh, its a vassal state for me and Bangladeshis are emotional fools stuck in 1971. Your PM day in and day out keeps mentioning and bashing Pakistan and that is how much you are obsessed with Pakistan in your real lives.

You were not born to understand the realities of Pakistan .......... neither you have the abilities to handle those realities, that's why your elders ran and left ...... 1971. It isn't that simple for you lot, else you won't be cheering our achievements on Feb 27.

In my view Pakistan should annex Bangladesh from Wajid and india nexus for ever , we can do it like Russia took back their Crimea.

I am sure this ''friend'' of your's is not any Bangladeshi. It was an Indian cockroach, isn't it?
Bangladeshis are emotional fools stuck in 1971
1971 is the most important national episode in Bangladesh. It was time when we became independent after a bloody war. So we will celebrate it, discuss it, bash those who committed crime then and so on. You got independence on silver platter from the British. Still you guys celebrate 14th August with pomp. Compare to that, our's are a pivotal moment. Not only we gained independence after a bitter 24 years political struggle and a bloody war, but also made the enemy to unconditional surrender. Do you really expect, any nation can forget such moments? Not only Bangladesh, but any nation?

Sheikh Hasina has zero interest to your current Pakistan. She do not mention the name of your country even once unless in the context of 1971 war or 24 years preceding it. Is she anything abnormal? No. Indians even after 100 years, did not forget Jalianwalabagh massacre where 1500 Indians were gun down by British forces. Then British govt. punished that culprit British army officer. Several British PM apologized for that event, payed respect to the victims going to Jalianwalabagh more than once. Still it comes into discussion every time any British and Indian head of the govt. officially meet. Compare that, our events in 1971 was hundreds times worse. The preparators of 1971, not only unashamed, unremorseful but also actively denying it. Hasina has every rights to hate your Pakistan. Not only Hasina, but every Bangladeshi. Plain and simple.

What is your achievement in 27 February and who cheered for you in Bangladesh? Can you explain a bit?

So we got Independence from British on a silver platter. Are you seriously told that in Bangladesh?

1971 for you is pivotal and for me its something to remember that how weak emotional fools collaborated with our arch enemy and revolted against their own state and country, if you were not loyal then you will never be loyal to Bangladesh and your own people, tomorrow if your state does something that you emotional fools consider a reason for a civil war and bloodshed you will revolt again and pick up arms against your state again.
If you will remember this as some joyous event for you, I will always remember that as a betrayal and the terrorists as traitors who broke their own country.

For goodness sake, when that Bangladeshi madrassa girl was burnt alive in Bangladesh for reporting a sexual assault, your PM said this happens in Pakistan.

Thank you I don't feel the need to explain it to irrelevant people. It doesn't concern you.

You have English comprehension problem, it seems. She clearly said, such burning was practiced by Pakistani army and it's collaborators in 1971. If you don't believe me, check the sources.

Yes I have comprehension issues, but your trials at deflection and how conveniently you have ignored that she felt the urge and need to bring in Pakistan in a case of violence committed by Bangladeshis on a Bangladeshi. Yep you and that hypocrite PM of your's are not Pakistan obsessed.

Last time around we did not have food, clothing, a government of ours, a military of ours, a state treasury of ours. This time we have all. Let them come, LOL this is such a hilarious proposition, I don't even know why I am writing this.

Don't forget we largely financed their (our ?!?) army which was used against our unarmed population. And them calling us Gaddars....

The higher number of female doctors in Pakistan is explained by the fact that a bride's status and desirability is increased by multitudes when she becomes a highly trained doctor.

But after marriage, few females go on to be practicing doctors, degree is good enough.

I explained this in a thread here maybe six months back.

Besides, there is precious few other acceptable chaste ghairat-mand professions for females in Pakistan that is not looked down upon, especially for lower-middle-class conservative Pakistanis.

For his mediaeval a$$, cooking is 'womens' work, and not a hobby for both males and females.

I don't know where these people crawl out of. Lord is this 2019. or 719??
Someone: Hitler, why are you putting Jews in camps?
Hitler: wth this is 1940 ok!

where does this fascination for placing women in traditionally male fields come from? like seriously?

i'll probably agree some value is attached to women's medical background in the Bangladesh and Pakistani marriage market. but if that translates to very high salaries and stressful work, like it always is for a young doctor in the West, it's repelling rather than attractive to a male suitor. not sure why anyone would have a problem with a woman dropping out of the labor market to deliver and raise children, besides looking after husband.

in any case, a Muslim shouldn't measure their success on something that is not even aligned with their values. female empowerment/emancipation implies a concerted male effort to oppress women that goes against some of the basic tenets of Islam, and not to mention, the concepts of gender role reevaluation, and LGBT wrapped up in that. but all that warrants a whole different forum probably. anyways, just my two cents - the progress of a nation should be measured on how little it's affected by feminism

Ashraf and Ajlaf/Atraf are medieval concenpts concocted by Ziauddin Barrani during the Delhi Sultanate which is also in collision with the Islamic concept of equality. This crap is not for the 21st century and you are a medieval creature who believes in this and in direct collision with Islam.

Alas, you are not even Ashraf as per the criteria of Al Barrani since you are a Pakistani wannabe Turk.

@Bilal9
this is a distinction made in the composition of subcontinental Muslim society. ones with more foreign blood vs ones with more native blood. it's more for observing a happening phenomenon rather than initiating the phenomenon itself i.e. people classified themselves on those lines in social life, whether these terms were ever invented or not. since longer time has elapsed since those migrations, and because of intermixing, the classifications do not matter as much now. but, it might still be beneficial to learn our ancestries and it's connection to our collective behaviour and culture.

so nothing wrong using these. plus @Hakikat ve Hikmet is most probably is just critical your pro-India/anti-Pakistan stance and drawing parallels with an atrap class which historically often came from non-elite Hindu backgrounds and seen as lacking the refinement of either Persianized settlers from Central Asia or the Indo-Aryan Brahmins of the subcontinent.
