Bangladesh shuts down Peace TV

People can still access Facebook, Youtube and other platforms. They even their own website which can still be accessed from here.

It is the source of their power that drove those kids that is to be tackled here. And as long as they do not acknowledge that there is actually a real problem here, then I do not know what to say about the country's security situation.

Zakir Naik is not the answer.



Then why delay action? Young people do not watch much TV. They watch much of their content online.

You ask how much effort? Let's say you are sincere and put effort.

Ban Facebook, you are gonna put small start-ups out of business that happen to rely on the platform. Ban Youtube, you are going to end advertising revenue and reduce the revenues of telecom and Internet operators which create jobs. And the job market is hard enough for young people right now.

I respectfully ask you - Don't let them pay the price. Please

Look we all know that it is stupid to blame ZN for the attacks or actually inspiring terrorists in any meaningful manner when we have far more dangerous elements in our society. This was done just to show they are actually doing something...there are various stages of radicalizing a person to become a terrorist....and the only step in which the government cannot do anything is indoctrination...they should focus on the other steps like finding out the sources of funding training and weapons...so no matter how radical a person becomes he is forced to keep his radical ideas in his home rather than taking them to a bakery and slitting people's throats.

ZN inspires terrorists? I don't think so. If so, the Indian authorities would have apprehended him long ago. ZN is conservative in his views. One may even say narrow-minded. Being intolerant is largely a matter of personal decision.

We don't have a very good idea on who these dangerous elements are. Most importantly, why? Why are they doing these? That is a very important question to answer. And I don't think we'd get any answers for that by banning some third-rate TV channel like Peace TV.

But the one thing the government may be right about is that they are indeed locally homegrown rather than foreign.

These things had never happened in the past.

I would say that there is an issue of intolerance in Bangladesh which is a relatively old issue. But the question still remains. Why? Why are they doing these things?
