I hope you know the percentage of collection of taxes in the country. The tax-GDP ratio is only 9.3%. So, without increasing the tax base through a continuous process of industrialization and thus an increased tax, BD cannot undertake big-scale public works projects to make the cities beautiful.

Industries will pay corporate tax and individual wage earners will pay their income taxes. So, industrialization is the only way to increase the national wealth and the amount of total collection of taxes that will be used to beautifying the Cities. Note also that Dhaka is not the only City/Town in the country. All of them are very uglier than Dhaka.

By the way, making the cities beautiful is less important than creating jobs for the population. Industrial development and the consequent foreign trades can certainly do both these two jobs. So, the allocation of money must be directed towards industrialization through private companies.

Here is the big difference between us. If I could then I would have stopped people from paying taxes in Bangladesh. The wastage of our tax money is so proficient that I am embarrassed to explain right here.

I can sense that Bangladesh will never change and we will be always be comparing ourselves with Indian and Pakistan rather then better nations.

I very much know what u think at this point. Therefore, I would create jobs as well as upgrade the cities. The key word : BALANCE. U need to read few books on how our environment affects our spirit and approach in our daily life.

Words don’t lay alongside the harsh reality. Sounds exquisite though ! Lets see how much people lose their brains and senses from this enormous hustle and bustle. Feels kinda bad for this lovely green piece of land which is turning grey inch by inch.

Pakistan have trained them from long before. they didnt start training them specifically to deal with the Rohingya.

i am not mocking them. btw, what help is Bangladesh doing for them? did Bangladesh send their army to fight Burma, like Pakistan does to fight India in Kashmir? the only time Bangladesh gave a damn about them Rohingya was when they were dumped inside Bangladesh. till then Bangladesh doesnt care about nothing and no one but itself. all these decades Bangladesh has been pissing on the Kashmir cause too. only now when Bangladesh realises that it needs allies to deal with India (border issues, trade issues, water issues), so now it seems to be thinking of others issues so that others may think of Bangladesh's issues and Bangladesh's hand.

Bangladesh has been hosting Rohingya refugees since the 90s. Rohingyas had been migrating to Bangladesh for safety and work since the 90s. For years the Burmese had been subjugating and oppressing the Rohingyas, to the point of even controlling their marriages, so that they couldn't breed and grow in population.

We have had several violent but small-scale border skirmishes with Myanmar since the 90s. So your understanding of the situation is not correct. We didn't just suddenly start caring for them since 2017.

The only difference is that the recent influx came into international attention after the barbaric acts of Burmese came out in the open.
