In all honestly though, Bangladeshis SHOULD be thoroughly monitoring our current situation for their own good from different angles; bureaucratic, diplomatic, military, judiciary, foreign relations(wrt to USA), economy, geopolitics etc. Might come in handy someday.

Don't write sarcastic comments. If you are happy with what happened in your country, that's fine . We have no headache as state. Title says that it's your internal matter.

At least I'm happy that our prime minister gave direct statement that she won't go against Russia because we owe them for our independence.

No coup happened against her. It's the benefit of dictatorship. At least we have a stable govt with independent foreign policy!

If she said that, then it is a wrong statement. Soviet Union stood by our independence, not Russia. Current Russia is the polar opposite of USSR. Then USSR, by ideology opposed exploitative, foreign, colonial rules and they supported liberation movements around the world. It was an Internationalist, Socialist superpower. Current Russia is more akin to Tzarist Russia, imperialist, conservative and ultra-nationalistic. Current Russia has no ideology other than to fish in troubled water to advance it's selfish interests. Russia supports both ultra-left and ultra-right extremists across Europe, who are virulently anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim and racist. Putin is the principal backer of dictatorships around the world. Russia under Putin, is not a force of good.

Most importantly, Soviet support for our independence was part of cold war politics. If our independence movement happened in 2021, instead of 1971, Russia would have most certainly supported Pakistan to crush our independence movement. So basing our foreign policy to that bygone era and context is most unfortunate. But perhaps one can not expect anything better from those who are obsessed with 1971-1975. Our state policy is frozen in those years. In this foreign policy, India is our biggest friend, no matter how much hostility and harm they inflict on us now and Russia=USSR must be forever supported in international affairs.

First tell me , do you support or not Bangladesh's position of abstaining voting in UN against Russia?

Russia isn't polar opposite of USSR. It was when it was under Boris yeltsin .

Under Putin it became more like Soviet Union.

I also had a bad feelings for USSR. But nowadays I realized that goebbelsian propaganda is actually enforced by western. In Bengali there is proverb you know, and that is সর্প হইয়া কাটো তুমি ওঝা হইয়া ঝাড়।

Westerns work like this. They nicely use their media to wash peoples' brain.

Not at all. India didn't do anything but feeding some refuges and mostly with foreign money.

Later came at December to steal our glory. Niazi made a pact with India to save his a.ss so India came and they surrender ( I admit I don't have any evidence that they really made a pact) .

But logic always favour this idea.
