Heck half of Onions and Potatoes in Bangladesh are imported from India.

Some correction, we do not import potato from India, actually we export some potato after meeting the local demand. Every year a lot of potato just rotten. Globally Bangladesh is 7th in potato production with annual production in range of 11-12 million ton.

I was speaking from my perceptions. I last went to bazaar in BD in 2013. I remember most shopkeepers had deshi Onions separated from Indian ones. And Indian ones were cheaper.
Potato I heard the big sized potatoes were from India and Bangladeshi potatoes are small...
