I don't regret East Bengal being included in the initial Pakistan, it is an undeniable part of our history, and at the same time I also don't regret the fact that we left that union.

I wish the best for Pakistan, in fact I myself am 1/4 Bihari, so I have relatives in Karachi who left East Pakistan during the conflict. I am no great fan of the Awami League or Sheikh Hasina, but I and most of fellow Bangladeshis are happier with independence than without.

Honestly I don't particularly care about that war much, I'm not here to dwell in the past, nor am I particularly well-versed in military history. I'm not one of the Bangladeshis that will argue a flame war for ten pages about who did what in 1971. I just wanted to make that first comment because the retort was there for the taking.
