The Bangladesh Navy sold Retired BNS Ali Haider to a local shipyard for Tk. 95 million. Before the ship was sold, all weaponry combat electronics and sensors were removed from the long serving ex-Royal Navy Leopard class frigate, which was armed with various gun's and depth charges.

BNS Ali Haider was sold to the Bangladesh Navy on 6 July 1978 for only £2 million. She was decommissioned on 22 January 2013 by the Bangladesh Navy.

This exclusive photo taken from abroad a Bangladesh Navy helicopter AgustaWestland AW109 and we can see BNS Ali Haider being taken to the scrap yard, beached and broken up.
