Bangladesh may acquire 10 Russian Yak-130s

If your military topbrass thinks that 2 engined fighters can give BAF parity with India or Myanmar..good luck with that. I wonder why didn't this thought occurred to PAF?:azn:
sir PAF is already order l-15(Chinese version y-130)

Its a trainer bhai.

YAK-130 or L-15 or M-346 is not just a trainer bro... These are the Lead-in-Fighter-Trainer (LIFT) and the most advanced and sophisticated trainers ever. For example: Maruti 800 is a car and Mercedes Benz S-65AMG is THE CAR. YAK-130 or L-15 are THE LIFT. I hope u understand.

But they can never assume the role of a strike fighter.

All this talk about Burma able to win a all out war with Bangladesh is a load of cr*p, same as any talk about us winning a war with india (though this does not mean we shouldn't have a effective well equiped military deterant). The military focus in Burma is primarily to control the population and keep the junta in power.

a. Bangladesh has a population 2.5 times that of Burma 150m vs 60m.
b. Bangladesh GDP is $115b against roughly $43b for Burma.
c. Bangladesh GDP growth rate is nearing 7%-8%.
d. Burma has to spend nearly 5% of their GDP on their armed forces, leaving lot less for development.
e. Bangladesh only spends around 1% of their GDP on defence, (way less thens even indias 2.6%).
f. The total active manpower (all forces) is roughly the same, 400,000 for Bangladesh and 500,000 for burma
g. Most of Burma's military is tied down fighting various insurgents or controling their own population, the junta knows any full scale conflict with their neighbors, they risk being overthrown.

I could on and on, please can we stick to the topic gents.

I am happy that Bangladesh is going for these trainers, i would have prefered L15/J10B combination, but Yak-130/Su-30 is good enough. I just hope they don't buy more migs, (even the mig35). if they can get say 8-12 Yak-130s and 8-12 Su-30s that would be a start.

Disagree with you on the first part. I believe, the opposite is true. Yak-130/Su-30 combination is way better than L-15/J-10B combination.

Absolutely agree with the second part. however, 10 YAK-130 and 20-32 Su-30 as Govt. is planning is appropriate I think.

I disagree. Flankers unit cost is higher than Fulcrams but operating cost is lesser. Flankers spare parts also costs less.

From where you are getting this? Flankers are heavier than MiGs, so of-course they are more maintenance intensive.

MiG-29 flying hour is estimated to have $ 5500

Sukhois 27/30 cost per flight hour with $ 7000, but believed that he had up to 14000 dollars for the latest Trzac of Sukhois 30-35

Don't get overly emotional or go on a trolling spree now.

flankers and yaks would make a superb combination, but i doubt they will buy the flankers.

Huge possibilty for this bird though
