New tank gun 50 calib..125 smoothbore (same gun produced for AK)... Based on KBA3.. Which is claimed to be more powerful than the later... Capable of firing all rounds including DU,Tungsten,Missiles etc etc.

Same IBMS (battle management system) used by AK

FCS etc = Italian THETIS by Selex,and some from AK etc..(some systems by German firm).

42.7 tons ( means more armour,upgrades).

18.3 hp/ton power to weight ratio .. Ukranian power plant.

Aorak ERA (off course produced with help from Ukrainians).. Similar to one used on AK.

New transmission etc..

@BDforever. The 550mm penetration at 2km is for the older Pakistani DU round "Naiza"...


The new DU is said to be over 650mm..

Don't knoww much about origin of different system, i know few things
It has 800hp which is higher than Al-Zarrar.
It has battle management system.
It has thermal imaging and 2nd generation night vision system.
even one site claims that Type59G tank is superior to AZ ,want that link ?

It's simply a 2nd gen tank upgraded to 3rd gen .. And no it can never compete against tanks like MBT-2000 etc..

Depends what you mean by "compete".

Yes, it is not as good obviously but what counts is the upgraded tank can reliably engage and destroy modern tanks that is possessed by the enemy.

When you are short of money, then this is a good way to upgrade your capability.

In due course the current 44 MBT-2000s will be joined by many hundreds of other units.

approaching 3rd gen not 3rd gen i said at most 2nd gen considering the likes of Merkava iv,arjun,mbt 2000 all to be under 3rd gen classification you can't simply call a 60's tank 3rd gen just by putting on some fancy rounds and ac the iraqi tanks were well upgraded but they couldn't do shit against the abrams

Bangladesh army's own BMTF(bangladesh machine & tools factories) under '902 heavy workshop start it's project to upgrade old type-59 light tank into modern generation main battle tank.as a type-59BD ;technology of type-59G.

stupidity at your best. when a tank has features of 3rd gen tank, you can call whatever you want but it can knock out 3rd gen tank and thats matter

tell me what T-72 tank of iraq had that time ?
just giving u an example: those did not have GPS, thermal sight, forget about auto loader, gunner had to turn the gun manually and so many things
