Bangladesh framing India-like rules to administer tariff preferences

Oh really? What a pathetic liar you are. Just recently you flooded our markets with air conditioners the components of which were made in china and you just assembled in Bangladesh by walton.

Really !

A bhakt Chicken Clucker calling me a liar.

Okay.

When do bhakt liars stop calling other people liars?

Here is the video. Knock yourself out.

I don't know - but can someone else tell me why I'm responding and wasting my time with this uneducated bhakt about production methods, which he clearly does not get? What part of China component is included here?

Walton invests hundreds of crore in CNC robotic production machinery, and some bhakt idiot calls it assembled with China components.

Yes and that's why their products are everywhere , sorry to break your bubble but India isn't the superpower you dream of

This guy has never gotten out of the andh-koop (blind-well) he calls home. No exposure, no ideas.

We are wasting our time educating these people.

China today makes all manner of products, from low budget to high-budget. I have bought $300 price point Chinese camera lenses, which give $3000 German Leica ones a run for their money.

Some are priced at $800 whereas original Leica Summilux would cost $5000!

The reviews say that specs rival those of Leicas.

Indian tek-na-laji cannot produce a commercial product like this in another two decades, if at all.

Chinese crap better than Indian products? Lol go see a psychiatrist.
Yes I agree. That is why India is receiving crappy oxygen tanks ventilators and other supplies from China, Saudi USA and UAE. Yet cannot produce to meet their own needs.

Clearly for some reason , it is poor BD who needs the psychiatrist.

:-)

Walton and other BD companies need to tap into African markets that are destined to grow as years go by . Our peacekeeping missions have generated a lot of goodwill among African nations and we can use that to our advantage.

Maybe trade volume is low for now, but these states have huge potential. We can provide relatively cheaper manufactured goods to them and they can sell us raw materials.
i personally don't think our goods will find a good market in GCC countries but we can try.

Genius lmao , this is the logical step Walton should take if it wants to become the LG of South Asia.

We should try to give Bangladesh a new image , Walton can get the money and resources from these African nations and then invest it into their R&D

Kenya i think . It has great potential.
Africa is a big market. Not in terms of making money , rather population and lack of competition. Perfect place for BD to experiment.

If BD develops products, as first step sell them in africa. If they work well and a hit, develop better and more expensive versions of the same and sell them to Europe and America's where the competition is extremely high.

But it will be even better if BD can become the manufacturing hub of the world. Why BD does not use this , no one knows. One of the key reasons China is a tech giant is because 40 years ago they started manufacturing everyone's everything. Then they made copied version of that for themselves to use.

Maybe BD should seek a similar path?

I mean yeah but lets just not copy like China yet , we need to innovate a little and make our products better in some way unlike our competition. Africa is a great place to start and then after a while lets send hopfully better quality electronics to Europe or America

If you want to innovate first you need to understand what the masters are doing. Then you copy them, then beat them.

how do you think these Chinese weapons came about??

all of them were initially copy of soviet weapons. The Chinese copied it , improved it , then exported it at profit.

All the " innovative " countries do this. Most anyway. Until they develop enough of knowledge base to produce their own inventors like the British or the Americans or Europeans.

The two most important nations in East Africa are of course, Uganda and Kenya, where token export from Bangladesh appliance makers have already gone. These markets are being explored further.

Then there is South Africa. Token exports there as well (some from Walton). Tanzania in the East Coast of Africa (generally the entire East Coast) is more prosperous than the interior countries because of trade.

There are huge presence of Indian made brands such as Godrej and Videocon in these countries (with showrooms etc., our products can definitely find a good market provided dealer and sales/service support are provided.

I see brighter prospects especially in Durban South Africa which is the center of Indian diaspora in South Africa and well-heeled customers exist for our household aircons, refrigerators and TVs.

Lesser evident but still bright prospects exist in some West African countries like Nigeria, Ghana etc. (and the ones Bangladeshi troops are in).

GCC countries are a wholesaler distribution point for most of Africa and Middle East. You would not set up showrooms there, but would contact the bigger distributors and channel wholesalers. My understanding is that some Bangladeshi companies are doing that already. Still there are exports in Dubai and there are Walton showrooms there.

In the wealthy GCC countries they are too brand conscious, but some of Walton's higher priced 600~700 liter fridges are definitely selling because of price advantage.

Better prospects in the Middle East would be Egypt, Turkey and the rest of the Maghreb, but then we are again getting into brand territory since Turkey and Italy nearby are still huge producers of appliances (Turkey has plants for every European fridge brand like Indesit, Whirlpool, Kelvinator etc.). Turkish fridge manufacturers do buy compressors from Walton.

Walton TV's and fridges are already going to Europe. A large batch of smart TV's went to German market recently. Exports to America will be tough (large investments needed but will happen in time).

You are correct. They broke ground for the plant three to four years ago, should be open by now. They were planning to serve all of Sub-Saharan African markets from there.

If you want inventions to happen since innovation is wayyy different from inventions , you'll need to change the current way Bangladeshis think and plus the country needs to achieve higher levels of prosperity among the population and the education system needs to be changed completely.

Bangladesh does have Bengali culture which is progressive but sadly again Bangladesh hates taking risks and would rather do corruption.

Brits and Americans has great inventors due to the culture making inventors and the government supporting them
