#Bangladesh has topped the list of countries that saw the quickest growth in the number of rich people between 2010 and 2019, according to a report from New York-based research firm Wealth-X.

Average annual growth rate of population with net worth of $ 5 million or more in last 10 years has risen 14.3 per cent in Bangladesh, the report says.

This has been revealed at a recent research titled ‘A Decade of Wealth’ published by of the global wealth information and insight company Wealth-X.

Vietnam ranked second on the list with an average annual growth rate of 13.9 per cent.

The report attributes Bangladesh and Vietnam’s rankings to robust economic growth in both countries supported by a young and expanding workforce and deepening integration in regional manufacturing supply chains.

According to the report, Asia is home to six of the 10 fastest growing wealth markets of the world.

China was placed third on the list with an average annual growth rate of 13.5 per cent while Pakistan placed ninth with an average annual growth rate of population with net worth of $ 5 million or more of 7.5 per cent.

Meanwhile the US remains the world’s dominant country for very high net worth (VHNW) individuals with net worth of $5-$30 million and ultra high net worth (UHNW) individuals with $30 million or more in net worth.

The report also predicts trends that will shape the next ten years.

According to the report, the proportion of wealthy women will increase in the next decade and technology and non-for-profit sectors will become more prominent as primary industries.

Asked about increase of rich people in Bangladesh, research fellow of Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies’ (BIDS) Naznin Ahmed said, “The rise in number of rich people is a very positive indicator. When the number of rich people increases in a country legally, they pay tax accordingly and they invest in the country direct or indirectly. I think it’s a good indicator if money remains in the country.”

She, however, said the biggest problem in our country is the income of poor people is not increasing at all like that of rich people. As a result, inequality is rising among the country’s population.

Naznin said the government should invest more in education and health sectors ensuring proper tax collection from the richer people.

A country can not ensure balanced development with wide inequality in income, she added.

Dang, BD is ahead of Vietnam, China, Thailand, India.

India is behind Pakistan as well. India needs to gets its act together. Having said that...
She, however, said the biggest problem in our country is the income of poor people is not increasing at all like that of rich people. As a result, inequality is rising among the country’s population.
Asia suffers from that a lot. But we still see a huge proportion of the population of South Asian countries making that transition from poor people to lower middle class and then to middle class.

"it’s a good indicator if money remains in the country."

"inequality is rising among the country’s population."

We can say that Bengalis have always been progressive. They certainly seem more rational many times. The Bengalis here are mostly the educated ones though (or atleast I have met only the educated ones) and my opinion could be a bit biased because of that.

The fact is. And non can ignore this. Before 1971 Banglas were looked as filthy, second rate Hindus, poor, backward and ugly partner that was holding Pakistan back. Something like how some urban types to sneer at the Baloch, at the interior Sindhis [ethnic Sindhi's] or tribal people. Low development indicators, poverty, backward etc. Fast forward 2020 look at where Bangla is. We can certainly split hairs and take issue with what the Banglas tout but the fact is Bangladesh has been a success story. Literacy, HDI indicators, per capita etc have sky rocketed since they left the "Islamic Republic". Just look at Bangla exports. It's boomong export based economy which touches even my life in UK as I can't avoid "Made in Bangla" garments. What does Pakistan export? Mulahs, terrorists, fake Islam? These are facts no one can deny.
One important point that you didn't mention in post 5 is that military expenditure of BD by proportion is also less as compared to India and Pakistan.

When I say here, I'm talking about the Bengalis of my state. Not the BD Bengalis of PDF.

Well done Bangla for -

  • killing the one nation theory
  • killing the two nation theory
  • validating that ethnic based state is best
  • validating secularism
  • castrating the mullahs

Jiva Jiva Bangla .... !
How so?

  • by not uniting with India and taking the clock to pre 1947 they pretty well screwed the idea of Akhand Bharat or India as sub-continental entity. One Nation Theory dead.
  • by splitting from Pakistan the pretty well killed the notion that being Muslim alone is basis of a nation. Two Nation Theory dead.
  • Bangla is 99.9 bangla ethic group and the state of Bangladesh is based around that. Thus being the only large ethnic based state in South Asia. Validating that ethnic based state is best.
  • Bangla was born in the furnace of secularism and has charted a success story like Turkey out of secularism. There was a time when Bangla was looked at by some urban types in Pakistan like they look at Baloch or tribal areas. Backward etc. Look at Bangla today. Validating secularism.
  • Bangla has taken the beards head on and not been afraid to lock and hang em high. Castrating the mullahs

Well done. Yes. Brothers? Never. I am old enough to remember 1971. We lost some fine boys in that swampy delta. A family member served in that theatre. But personal hate asides I got to give the respect to these Mukhtos that defeated our army.
@Slav Defence @AgNoStiC MuSliM @Socra @Mangus Ortus Novem @waz
What kind of Pakistani he is?

God damn you people, hold your horses.
I can sense those hidden snakes who appear when see coast is clear. I warn them all to hold your tongues or else we have to take some unpleasant decisions they will not like. We will then have to smash their heads permanently. You people think that by establishing Pakistani accounts will spew hate and try to benefit Indian proxies and we will watch this quitely.
This well known "Mir Jafar" is not hidden from anyone. I warn all Pakistani and Bengladeshi posters to immediately report us such snakes who want to propagate this BS. We know who gets benefit from such posts.
Till now, it was warning. Next time, it will not be. We have no place for people who grow hate in their hearts, talk about their martyrs but evoke hatred and benefit third parties.

Regards
