In fact (unlike assembled smartphones in India and Pakistan) we MAKE the damn things locally from scratch.
More on point, Internet use penetration itself in Pakistan is quite low percentage-wise compared with Bangladesh (and you are probably right - it has something to do with literacy rates).
Bangladesh percentage-wise has much higher cellphone penetration, which is a well-regarded secret.
The links and articles I posted was not out of jealousy but to point out the basic misunderstanding of the role of cellphone communication (and therefore internet access) in the subcontinent.
From:
(Factually wrong, and this fellow got thumped badly on the original thread claiming that BS) Fact speaks for itself on state of BD electronic component industry:
http://www.worldstopexports.com/electronic-circuit-component-exports-country/
Find me another country that claims to "make things locally from scratch" that doesnt at least export a few millions of it?
239k USD exported by electronics "from scratch" BD No one in the region is doing great on electronics manufacturing, but Bangladesh is doing especially bad. Don't make me post the global electronics industry report like I did last time that made you cry and run away .
FALSE, 18% vs 13% (actual permeation use rate) BD literally has 1/3rd actual permeation to its frontier claim by BTRC "one IP = distinct subscriber" nonsense.
FALSE, similar reason as above. The dissonance between end-survey results to BTRC gross subscription claim is frankly astronishing and unparalleled in the subcontinent.
to:
....dat climbdown
Basically @war&peace if you were hostile to his shenanigans just one more time in reply, he will brand you as "bharti false flagger"....I appreciate you being the better person though....he can sure use that (to keep some frail contact of a discussion alive and hopefully extract himself from his mud wallow of butthurt) seeing how more and more Pakistanis are wising up to this fellow:
https://defence.pk/pdf/threads/whatever.46703/page-4835#post-10284344
I could give you what this guy actually has posted (astonishingly negative tirades and foul mouthedness, and thats coming from an Indian).....about Pakistan, Pakistanis, your military, your economy etc when he isnt in sycophant mode (and then calling Pakistanis who defend themselves as "bharti" false flaggers ....and then runs to mods to cry and complain when they hit back)....but only if you are interested to know about that (say in the whatever thread), because it will take way too long. Suffice to say, be wary about this fellow (just look at the original post no.16 I have quoted from)....deep down he hates Pakistan because it represents something his lot can never achieve....even in a million years. Be nice to him (because you are a good fellow that has not interacted with him much yet), but just know the context of what he is like overall esp when most ppl are not looking.

On and off topic:
I used to play a video game name order and chaos 2.
There is a place named abyss of silence in the map sunken hollows.
It is one of those pvp area when players were able to slay another player and it was also the place of gold farming.
The real problem is a player always used to play the gold farming daily questions with a team that was not only absurd but also sometimes peoples laughed on his back. He played with team only because he was unable to counter any unwanted threat from other guild members. So if he is in team and the team mates with his friends of another guild, he always teamed with them because they will not only save him but also won't be able to hit him mistakenly as team mates can't hit even if they are from another guild.
Even that man requested a team in order to counter a single player who had lowers gear score than him!! He just never wanted to lose, lol.
Your posts really remind me the memory of him. . Do you see.the abyss of silence in Bangladesh sub forum.
@Nilgiri
I believe you should read this thoroughly specially the final para, because most of time you counter folks in a team . .TL;DR
Im sure it had a lot of feelz in it.
What? When did Bangladesh got a chip fabrication unit? Whats the process feature-size?In fact (unlike assembled smartphones in India and Pakistan) we MAKE the damn things locally from scratch.
Oh you should see the prices Reliance Jio offers.Having 4G when majority people can't really use it cheaply (you need low tariff rates) is pointless.
You should try Reliance 4G sometimes. 4G's biggest selling point was lower latency than 3G and it shows in Jio.In fact accessing Internet via 4G cellphones is also a sham in the subcontinent. Here 4G is in name only and is a marketing gimmick. The govt. knows it and so do the trickster cellphone providers.
Quite a bit actually. In india Hotstar's biggest growth actually came from cellphones. How many are watching serial movies and shows on cellphones with the high tariff rates? Plus 4G speeds are really low in the subcontinent compared to say US, Korea, Japan.

I will let you into a nice secret: In canada, my stupid chatr prepaid mobile costs me around 50$.

For 2.5GB 3G data. Speed is typical 3G speed. Indian Jio blows this out of orbit with CAD2 for 2GB 4G data which is AT LEAST as fast as anything canadian telco can provide.

(Check weekly package here)
In this link the 4 gb( weekly) in 179 BDT available for all mobile operators and for all kinds of connection ( both old and new). So simply that mean only 716 BDT/month.
However there Robi is even better, as most of its sim ( except new connections) you can get an offer that is recharge based.
Richarge 349 BDT and get 30 GB data ; 1 gb each day with 24 hours validity for 30 days).
For eligibility some one can check dialing *999#. I use the data offer, speed are excellent ( except 6 pm to 12 am is half because of high traffic). Before that long time I used 6 gb/weekly by recharging only 94 BDT (1 gb main and 5 gb bonus), not sure if still exist or not as I don't use other packages since I have 30gb /month. But 4 gb weekly with 179 BDT is a common offer.
Honestly you can't learn about Bangladeshi mobile operators by browsing there sites, unless you are regular user. And also most if time operators ( specialy Robi) send sms to specific Sims fir various offers.
You know what is the biggest cause of high cost of bandwidth? One is undersea cable. Another is peering fees. Reliance has its own undersea cable terminating at mumbai AFAIK. And being a bigger company it sometimes dictates peering fees. But i gotta ask, how is it that jio can financially sustain selling bandwidth so cheap?
Keep taka 179 in account, this data will be added with auto renewal, so what's the problem? You still can use remaining data.4 GB weekly @ 179 TK will be 16 GB for 28 days @ 716 TK. Unless you just want to use internet for 1 week.
There is no problem. Only that it is way way cheaper than that with Jio. 42 GB for 28 days = 10.5 GB per week that too for 195 / 4 = 48.75 TK.Keep taka 179 in account, this data will be added with auto renewal, so what's the problem? You still can use remaining data.
Well the price is for 3g data, and probably our operator will reduce price too for 4g, as when 3g started, they reduced price and also increased package size considerably because 3g(h+) is extremely faster than 2g ( EDGE), so data usage should be much higher .There is no problem. I have fiber connection in my village. 3 mb/s at 1000tk/month.
I wonder how fiber connection doing in other parts.
Chittagong, 60km away from city.which village is that? Which ISP are you using? 3 mbps at 1000 BDT is relativly cheap, especially considering the fact that it is a rural area.
