When countries around us flying mid 29, Su 30 and better AC, what relevance these outdated AA guns will play in air defense??? Why all idiots are jumping in joy with such worthless piece of craps that has virtually no value in REAL air defense???

Against MM helios these would prove lethal. Every thing have their purpose but i also agree with you. BD needs weapons of greater range and capability.

Not just that... it would make a great part of layered air defense against cruise missiles, and A2G missiles. This would be a part of long range SAM, medium range SAM, short range SAM, very short range SAM.

Oerlikon is the best quality 35mm Anti-Aircraft Gun we could have bought but we should also be looking at land-based automated gatling gun Close-in Weapons System similar to say the LD-2000 system in China or the C-RAM, which is a land-based version of the US Phalanx CIWS. These are the best third-layer (final) countermeasure for incoming missiles to defended installations like bridges, forces HQ etc.

The second layer is medium range missile and the first of course an S-300/350 or Patriot equivalent.
