LOL this article contridicts its own claims that during 1971 West Pakistan had a population of 46% while they had the rest while Pakistn's population (according to artivcle by some random Rahman A) is 190 million while Bingos have just 158 million:rofl: The population grows right, not decreases by passage of time so much so that such a wipe gap emerges.
While according to their propaganda infested wikipedia website it was about 160 million in 2010. There r just so much contradictions.
:omghaha:

There is a thing population growth in which Pakistan is beating everyone, so Pakistan has more population than BD over the years. Please give attention to details

Again, long term these things tend to revert to the mean and smooth out:

Pakistan's average population growth doesn't exceed its long term average nominal GDP growth rates

Everything changed on the night of 25 March 1971; The black day in history of Pakistan. That day Pakistan was divided into Two parts mainly due to arrogance of West Pakistanis. West and East was indeed together but West Pakistanis never considered the East Pakistanis to be their own.

That is why Mujeeb was able to launch his seven points agenda not in Dhaka but in Lahore and win total majority due to support of East and West combined... All division of assets and liabilities Bangladesh still owed money to West Pakistan which Bhutto forgave in lieu of better relations and release of POW...

Urdu was imposed as the official language in 1948. The East Pakistanis began their demonstrations against it in 1952 because up until that period, the new Urdu speaking ruling elite shifted between a hardline attitude and holding out the possibility of compromise. 1952 was the year that the Urdu speakers told the rest of Pakistan that only Urdu would be the national language.

Bengali Language Movement - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I find urdu to be an extremely dumb language when compared to number of our native languages..despite being a urdu speaker myself i feel urdu has a very weak character and is suitable to royal slaves and hareems with their typical nawabi aap jenaab..Our native languages have a lot of character and enforcement in them which gives us a distinctive understanding..Urdu was experimented as somewhat equivalent of English in Europe but the experiment badly back fired..

It's not a problem if BD performs better than Pak, I'm sure they would be happy for us and same for us too. If Pak is doing good we feel proud just as we do about their army.

.
What ever happened is happened .We are delighted to see Bangladesh prospering .We see Bangladesh as Muslim brothers and we feel really happy for your progressive growth ,the idea of 2nation theory was never to see a single state but to see states of muslim with high prosperity .Rest is all propaganda in a way this article is Pakistan centric but you should see like Pak ,Bangladesh also has large poplulation to feed around 200 Mil so any economic activity should be welcomed ,Also BD immediate neighbours like Vietnam ,Myanmar are doing even better

Highly unlikely - IMF forecasts have hardly ever been right when it comes to Pakistan. As they only predict with current situation and condition - wouldn't call that a prediction.

Pakistan's GDP growth rate has always been unstable and is one of the most unpredictable and unexpected. It can go from 4.5% to 8% anytime. We've always had an average of 2-4% higher rates than predicted. Our economy took a hit during the peak of war on terrorism which cost us around 80 billion dollars lowering our average growth rate from 6% this decade.
Look at this chart to know how fast and quick our GDP growth rates can change.

Currently 2% of our growth is hampered because of energy cuts and another 2-3% is hampered due to the fact that we have an undocumented economy of 36%
The Government has pledged to both eliminate energy cuts and to fully regulate the economy by 2018-2020. Meaning our growth rate could double. Organizations who take this into account also acknowledge this; such as trade economics.

Not to mention the billions of dollars being poured into Pakistan - here are the projects invested and headed by China from 2014-2015 alone. Once CPEC is finished - all trade enroute to China via Suez, East Africa and South Africa will go through Gwadar, also making us in the center of international trade.

Indians like @Nilgiri can continue to deny this - but fact is fact. We have a brighter future than anyone else in the region - the question isnt 'if' but 'when'.

Pakistan Sees Growth Surging to 7% as China Invests Billions

But even 'if' Bangladesh surpasses Pakistan - I would be happy and proud; and the worlds ' Mashallah ' would constantly come out of my mouth. I'm glad that Bangladesh is prospering and I pray it continues to do so.

BD and Pakistan are in two different leagues, BD may export twice as much garments as Pakistan but that doesnt mean anything. BD is categorized as poor country and hence get special tariff on garment exports form EU and US. There is a limit on how far BD can go since it lacks natural resources and its geographical location.

.
Lots of insights. BD is fast closing the gap with Pakistan

How so?

Nominal GDP 2014
Pakistan: $247 billion
Bangladesh: $184 billion
Difference = $63 billion

Nominal GDP 2015
Pakistan: $271 billion
Bangladesh: $202 billion
Difference = $69 billion

I mean Bangladesh has only had 44-years to first of all catch up and then surpass Pakistan with no wars, no nuclear program, no sanctions, etc. but they're too busy daydreaming.

By the way, is India still expected to overtake the Chinese economy by 2020?

Actually geographic location of Bangladesh is very favorable for development.Bangladesh is surrounded by three most populous and large dynamic economies of the world, namely China, India and ASEAN. Most of the economic activities in 21st century will happen in this region and Bangladesh can become part of it. Our Pakistani friends always brag about so called ''strategic'' location of Pakistan, but what benefit it did to Pakistan so far? Being surrounded by poor unstable central asian and middle eastern countries and a hostile India did any good to Pakistan? You may share some border with China's extreme western fringe, but that thinly populated barren land is so much away from population and economic centre of China.

And for natural resource thing, Look at the condition of the most naturally endowed countries in the world.Russia, Iran, Venezuela, Nigeria, Congo,Iraq,South Africa. What do you see? The ultimate resource is human resource without which all other resource are meaningless or even curse. We are concentrating on that.If we can develop human resource than we can buy those resource in international market. That's how Japan, Germany, UK, Korea, Singapore developed in first places. Natural resources are not the holy grail of development.

They do lack natural resources - but that has not stopped countries like Japan and Singapore with zero natural resources become one of the top most economies of the globe.

But their geographical location is pretty good. They border India, China and ASEAN. Furthermore, they share good relations with all these 3 so there are no barriers against them.

While right now their primary markets are the developed world but in decades to come, all the action is shifting to these 3 with rising incomes here- India, China and ASEAN.

What ever they produce will find ready markets nearby.

spot on! proximity to population centers is a big factor to drive growth,
The pacific is a gold mine. Prospering trade and relations with India and China will solidify BD's growth trajectory.
The only threat is vulnerability to extremism.

You are absolutely right! Within the distance of 3 hours flight from BD, atleast 3 billion people live who are also very dynamic on economic front. So potential is there to reap the benefit.

Long term Pakistan will pull away from BD:

Not with their GFCF where it is. I have issue with these long term projections going into decades which I won't go into here, but I would take with a huge barrel of salt.

Way things are going right now, I see Bangladesh GDP surpassing Pakistan somewhere around 2020 - 2025 in nominal terms. PPP would be a few years after whenever nominal is given the relative price levels (which are increasing faster in Pakistan than in Bangladesh according to most recent IMF WEO).
