Bangladesh 2nd largest economy in South Asia

.
Pakistan should work hard on Human developments instead of wasting funds on shinny infrastructure. heavily subsidise export industries for foreign exchange.

Soon BD is going to be a super power. So please bring back those 500000 women who are working in the brothels of India and 83000 women from KSA who are working as maids there:agree:.

Could any one share the latest GDP figures of BD and PAK:angry:

Ur false accusation doesn't bother me at all. As a matter of fact u can bark as much as u want but it won't change the fact that we belong to a different league as a country.

GDP per capita, gdp growth rate, export amount, population growth rate, mortality rate, literacy rate, minority right, u name it.. ...... we r so much ahead on every single department as a country.

All thx to Mujib and Hasina. Without their contribution it wouldn't be possible.

The methods of calculating economies vary. Some economists emphasize on GDP. Others insist that since the GDP does not calculate inflation and rising or lowering costs of living it is a poor method. Instead, the size of the economy should be measured by total national wealth, national poverty, national resources, & national developments (i.e. infrastructural). At one point Sierra Leone had a GDP of 8% but remained amongst the poorest countries in the world. Saudi Arabia is one of the richest countries in the world but their wealth does not come from the improved performance of the economy but national resources (oil). Western economies outsource their industries to third world countries yet their economic size remains larger than the countries producing their goods. We have always maintained (& argued) that the living standards in Pakistan are much higher in entire South Asia, even though India is the largest economy by a long shot & has much larger income-oriented middle class.

In terms of GDP Bangladesh has done tremendously well & has outdone Pakistan. But in terms of the size of the economy, national wealth vs. national poverty index, and national development there are disappointing trends. However, this is not to say that they cannot overcome this. Their wealth trickledown trends at times appear better than even those of India.

The only examples of breakout economies in recent years are perhaps China, India, & South Korea. Not only have they incorporated outsourced industries but have successfully replicated those industries on indigenous levels. This is especially true for China & South Korea in the case of their high-tech industries. & this is something Pakistan should be doing. We were on it from the late 1950s to the late 1980s. But from thereon the sanctions, political and economic ineptitude, domestic political turmoil, & regional security issues have really undermined our performance.

Good news for Bangladesh if their economy is growing rapidly. They just need rulers who are less pro-India.

An economically strong Pakistan and economically strong Bangladesh on either end of it, is the worst news for India.

comparing Pakistan a country at war since 1979 and LDC Bangladesh (a colony under the protection of India and entitled to all sorts of concessions from first world countries and still looks like a giant swamp/cesspit) how the hell is it fair or possible on a so-called (purportedly) Pakistani forum?

and a slave nation of India, I rather live in a much poor country with self respect.
BTW defense PK is banned in Bangladesh, probably to entertain their Indian masters.

and most of the Bangladeshi are cheering for Pakistan victory over India. Very humiliating for India.
Love and pray from Bangladesh to Pakistan.

Good to see BD progressing but why is everything in competition with Pakistan ? Pak GDP by most sources is 300+ billion which still ahead of BD but ok......
Due to the fall of Pakistani ruppee in 2018. Pak GDP has reduced to USD $280 billion. Pak currency went from 108 to 135 when compared to USD. Where as BD currency has stayed stable.

Bangladesh has been ranked 41st among the world's largest economies in 2019, moving up two notches from last year's. The country has become the second biggest economy in South Asia, according to an analysis by a London-based think-tank.

Among the other South Asian countries, India is ranked 5th, Pakistan 44th, Sri Lanka 66th, Nepal 101st, Afghanistan 115th, the Maldives 156th, and Bhutan 166th, in the World Economic League Table, published annually by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR).

With the United States at the top of the table, China, Japan, Germany and India take the lead as the top five economies.

The report which forecasts the fortunes of 193 countries to 2033 says China is likely to overtake the US as the world's number one economy in 2032, two years later than previously expected, due to a more lax monetary policy and lower exchange rate.

In the long run, many Asian economies will rise through the ranks of the table as these countries cash in on their demographic dividends.

The two most prominent examples are Bangladesh, which will enter the top 25 largest economies in 24th place in 2033, and Pakistan, which will rise to 27th in 2033, said the report.

“We expect annual rates of GDP growth [in Bangladesh] to average 7 percent between 2018 and 2033. This will see the country climb 19 places in the World Economic League Table to become the world's 24th largest economy by 2033,” said the report, which was released on December 26.

Bangladesh will rank 36th in 2023 and 27th in 2028.
Congratulations Bangladesh
